I get this message on the log when I try to do it, sorry to annoy you for help, but what am I doing wrong?
You didn't download and import the shaders. I would give you the link but my Android is as fast as a tree and that's what I'm on right now :sleep.gif:
Look on dax's wiki, the instructions are on there (link on the first page)
Here is the instructions for manually doing it:
First Download the Nitrous.zip file
Then Download the Shaders. n2 file
Extract Nitrous.zip file
In the Nitrous folder just created, run nitrous.jar file
Click on File button, then Import... button select your
Shaders. n2 file then patch it.
can someone please post a bump shader set for 256x with pronounced height maps. I fail at altering the files myself. I have a 1.0 ready version of my pack done...but I just can't get the pop I want from the shaders. (used the 128x settings with old shaders, with same terrain_nh with excellent results)
Dax, I may seem like I have a bee in my bonnet by now, but I posted the "command line" (Terminal) feed you asked for, and you don't seem inclined to get back to me on it. The Windows users all have their mostly functional release. I'd love to get past square one with the linux one, with your help.
EDIT: I have tried every method mentioned here by all the other thread-campers like me. I'm still waiting for you to look at the feed you asked for. I follow directions damned well. At least tell me if this is Linux related, or is instead just related to my graphics drivers.
Sorry got side-tracked. The text "Failed creating framebuffer!" shows me where the point of failure is. The code around is point is totally independent of everything else so I don't think it can be an installation issue or anything. I really have to just suspect a graphics card or driver incompatibility. What kind of graphics card are you using?

if someone has, and I missed it... apologies.
same here, i'm using the crazy bump program posted a few pages back and i'm not getting any pop out of any texture packs at all, ive tried a few photorealistic, balea, bump mapping simulation, sphax, etc...
can someone post a terrain_nh that they guarantee will pop with these new shaders and which texture pack to go with it?
the program seems to be working right because like i said earlier i can create a terrain_s effect just fine.

Any idea what does this mean?
EDIT
I now see what is the problem, since I run Mac OS X 10.7.2 (Lion), so in order to mod my minecraft i use the Unarchiver. So my minecraft.jar is not actually a .jar, rather a folder with the extension .jar. Any ideas how to fix this without reinstalling minecraft?
Interesting note:
There is a bug/feature? that constantly switches the PoV to every object, whether block, entity or particle. Probably annoying for some things, like wood-cutting, but it gives a sweet effect when it's raining (unless it's actually a separate feature)

I get this exact same problem as EldingArtist, I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 64bit, Amd catalyst 11.8 (ubuntu oneric repo) on an ati Radeon 5650M. I am going to try it on another of my computers running 11.04 with an Nvidia GT 520 and see if I get the same problem.
alright..here's whats going down.. from the second world loads.

Win7 Ultimate 64x, AMD phenom 8450e, Radeon HD 5890 (up to date drivers and vision), running MC from bat allocating 4gig ram, mcpatcher is only other mod
Why you have that card with that beast? Get a gtx400 series or better .With an evga gtx480 and i5 2500k oc to 4.5ghz im getting 200 fps with 128 texture pack and default shader
'cause I recently updated and am awaiting the arrival of my 2 560Ti 2Gbs.
Can't wait for some alternate shaders to pop up. DoF and Bumpmapping, but I can't wait till we get some more of the old shaders, and that new shadow shader you talked about. And the fire one. After that, I've just got to wait for this to be compatible with the Water Shader mod, and I'll be one happy person with what-passes-for-HD Minecraft :biggrin.gif:

The code around is point is totally independent of everything else so I don't think it can be an installation issue or anything. I really have to just suspect a graphics card or driver incompatibility. What kind of graphics card are you using?
My graphics Card is recognized by my computer as an ATI Radeon 3850. The card itself is a Sapphire card, containing 2 GB video RAM. The drivers powering it are the official drivers AMD recently made specifically for Ubuntu for the card, called simply "ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver"

I'm hoping it's not a ATI incompatibility. I've run games up as recent as Black Ops on my computer (before I switched to Ubuntu) and that I could run full-framerate at highest settings. If AMD/ATI's drivers specialized for Ubuntu work funny, I'm gonna have more problems than just this. Maybe I'll hunt down an unnofficial.
The mod works great, especially the Bumpmapping but I'm not a professional in making a perfect terrain_nh.png and terrain_s.png. Here are some Screenshots of Minecraft with [64x] Meine Kraft Basic Texture Pack by Pustekuchen (I made the terrain_nh.png and terrain_s.png):
PS: I'm using an ASUS X53SJ Notebook with GeForce GT520M and Intel Core i3, and it runs smoothly =)
So far i have tried a a lot of different examples of Bump-mapping but i havent seen anything so far. It just looks like normal blocks. I am using Windows Vista with a Nvidia Ge-forece GT 9800 please help me :/
edit: Also i just re-installed Vista so all i have is service pack one is that why?

is there a list of texture packs which support it?
I see Balea and possibly LB Photorealism, any others?
