Hi! I'm in the process of making a Xenoblade Chronicles adventure map (code-named "Xenocraft"), and I was wondering: To build the adventure map, is it best to build it in a flatworld or default world?

You may have invaded my mind and my body, but there's one thing a Saiyan always keeps: His pride!!
It depends on the style of map you're making and the kind of Minecrafter you are. If you like undertaking massive projects to build your entire world by hand (or MCE and WE), completly custom exactly how you want, then I'd suggest a flat world. It'll take way longer, but it'll show how much effort you put into it. You could also try rallying up an experienced team of professionals, or just people good at what they do to help you. You'd have to set-up some way of playing together such as a server. If you're the kind who doesn't like to spend a lot of time on anything, then use a pre-generated (normal) world. You have the basic areas, biomes, and shapes, but you can also add a few of your own things in there too.
Not sure if this helps you at all but if you really want you could download the server plugin called "VoidWorld" it essentially lets you generate a world with no terrain. Though the main problem with using this is that you need a server and multiverse.
