Story:
You are getting bored with everyday life, so you want to go to a new place! You've decided upon Gliston, a beautiful town with a variety of people. But, when you get there, things are different than the brochures. People are vanishing left and right, and now you want to find them! You'll find out very interesting things, and have fun along the way.
Rules/Guidelines:
Stay in Adventure Mode
Don't destroy blocks under any circumstance, especially command blocks.
Step on every golden pressure plate. The map relies on them to tell the story!
Avoid destroying item frames. You won't get their drops, you''ll just muck things up.
Characters with pink names are essential to the storyline. Yellow names are lesser characters.
There is a button on the back of the spawn house if you spawn outside of it. This will put you in the right spot.
Recommendations:
-At least 12 chunk render distance
-Default texture pack, but Sphax works as well.
-Minecraft 1.8/1.8.1
-Adjust your server properties for multiplayer: enable-command-block=true spawn-monsters=false pvp=false gamemode=2
Playable with any amount of players, whether it's 1 or 8. More than 3 or 4 will get a bit crowded, though.
Help:
Where are the furnace pieces?
The first is in Clockmaker Paul's in the Plaza.
The second is in the school. Maybe what the teacher said is important?
The third is in the News Station. The anchorman likes to keep things behind the desk.
The fourth is in the Casino. That's odd, only one machine is working...
The fifth is in the club. Play some music and look around.
The sixth is in the Furniture Store. People really need to leave the chests alone!
The seventh is in the Pizza place. Maybe the owner left a hint?
The eighth is in the Hospital. Handel Vinter did say to check every nook and cranny.
Erlendur's Crypt
The first bridge is a bunch of invisible blocks. Maybe the symbols on the ceiling will help you cross.
The second bridge is quite similar, but don't think too hard.
On the third, most buttons are straight forward, but how will you make that last jump? Look closely.
Temple of Snow
Which of these does not belong? Think about eggs.
Which of these can be put in a minecart? Think about bunnies.
Which of these can be used as a fuel source in a furnace? Not what you expect.
There are many families in Gliston. Which family was not in Gliston? Pay attention.
End of Map
It's the boss fight! What an evil guy! Erlendur said he set a trap for the evil doer, check the walls.

It is incredibly rare when I actually post something to the MC forums.
However, I wanted to say that I downloaded/finished this map and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The parkour sections did give me a bit of a hefty challenge, but admittedly, I've never been too good at that kind of stuff. Regardless, I really liked the map; it has a great design, very minimal lag (which is a huge plus), and a fun boss battle as well.
Great work, I really enjoyed solving The Mystery of Gliston.

Thanks so much! <3 Posts like this encourage us to possibly pursue making another map in the future! ;D
This was one of the most enjoyable maps I've played in a while. The detail of the buildings in the town was amazing, so many creative ideas were used that I've never seen before. I really enjoyed the dialogue, it gave the map a real feeling of life. The ending was fantastic, too.
That "making of" part was something I really enjoyed... and the callback to the locked doors at the beginning was funny. I also loved the puzzles in the place where you get the redstone key.
The only real criticism I have is that the paths between areas were a bit longer than they needed to be. You two did a great job and I honestly hope you make more maps in the future.

That is so nice of you! This made my day. I am very glad you enjoyed it, and we may make another map in the future. It's undecided.
A really nice map!! Enjoyed playing it a lot. There was a nice variation of different puzzles and quests, and the map was built super beautifully (I loved the town square, it gave the map a lot of character and each building was unique and well made). The dialogue and characters were excellent and very very funny, and made the fetch quest a lot more enjoyable as you got to explore the town in its entirety. To anyone playing I recommend stepping on every Golden Pressure plate as the characters and shop owners have a lot of charm and excellent one liners(Phil Collins made me giggle for about 15 minutes), and they sometimes give hints on finding the furnace pieces!
Each temple was unique and I cant tell you how many guesses it took me to get every question right in the Ice temple (I guess I know nothing about Minecraft). The 'Final Boss' was really well done, as I felt like I was really in a final boss battle and it was so satisfying to hit all the buttons, I also really loved reading the 'making of' section at the end, It seems you two really put a lot of heart and thought into this map and it was super interesting to see all the behind the scenes stuff.
Overall I really enjoyed being one the first people to test and play this map and I'm super excited for any future maps as I was never bored or fustrated playing this one and your humour in this one was absolutely amazing and really brought the whole thing together.
Glad you enjoyed the map. I'm also glad someone picked up on that Phil Collins reference.

Thank you! Nice first part, I've added it to the original post.
Also, you can step on any pressure plate whenever you want. It's actually recommended you step on every single one you see.

Oh and a little creepy part that happened is that when it says "I see an entrance..." my game suddenly rendered it just then XD. gave me the chills
