Gameplay- 4
The gameplay on here was simply wonderful. I did enjoy the start, getting some info on the town. There was a lot of mob fighting, a really nice story, and even a final boss!(this is one of the only maps I have played with an actual boss fight at the end). Overall, very nice work here!
Detail- 4
The detail is just amazing. Insane builds(team variede or hypixel level), Well thought-out, and it even has a custom texture pack! Very nice details in here. Also loved the final boss battle music. I honestly can't think of anything that you can do better here. I mean just look at just one screenshot of this map and tell me I'm wrong.
Storyline- 3.5
The story was great. I like how(unlike most other maps I have reviewed) you keep the story going throughout the entire map. Nice comedy mixed in, and you get this masterpiece. The only flaw I could find was that you did give a choice at the end, but it was kind of forced one way at the end.
Difficulty- 2.5
The difficulty needs work. A lot. Not only did I almost run completely out of swords, but there are a LOT of spawners everywhere. I did think that the finale was well-balanced, but other than that, I got my butt handed to me. A lot.
Mechanics- 3
Very simple mechanics, but they do get the job done very well. No bugs to it, nice checkpoint system, and overall just an epic map. The only flaw I could find is that, while the mechanics do get the job done, they need some specialty(something that sets your map apart(the firework rocket attacks in herobrine's return, for example)).
Overall score- 4+4+3.5+2.5+3=17=Fantastic
This really deserves the attention it gets. Very nice builds, good story, and nice gameplay. The only downside is that difficulty level. Diamonds to you, man.
Also, at the end, it says to go left to play it in a new gamemode, but I can't figure out what to do. U know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for the review, it speaks the truth and is very much appreciated. The difficulty is definitely something I've been told about many times, along with the length being perhaps a tad too short for some players. I'll work on those a bit more for the next map, haha.
As for the "new gamemode", it was something I wanted to add during the month of August, but multiple real life events occurred all at once, preventing me to add it by making me lose motivation. At this point, I'd rather just work on university assignments and the next map, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed what you played, though!

I see what happened with that "new gamemode". I'm glad you liked my review though!

More or less. The megabytes will probably be in different spots, though.
This makes no sence and is not correct terminogiy as to what a megabyte and gigabyte are, see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabyte . But you must mean the person downloads the map(s) then uses whatever technique to extract the level layout then reporduces it in a map that he(she) has labeled their own. But back on topic.
Great map OP. my friend and I had a score of 86 didn't 'cap' it tho.

Haha, I'm no professional on the subject, so I'm probably wrong, yes. But I make maps even if I don't understand everything I talk about! That might bite me in the butt later on, but oh well.
86 is a pretty good score regardless! It means you took the time to grab the Soul Gems.
Ya, its no big deal I have to explain all that stuff on a daily basis as work so its just me. But, really liked it I played it with my little brother
so most of the time I have to run after him and kill all the zombies that are swarming around him while he darts from chest to chest.
A Sequel to this would be awesome since we now have: The Lost Potato - Part: 3.
It'll steal your glory :3
I have no plans to make a sequel to this map, haha. The story leaves no place for it, so I'd rather not force a sequel out of thin air. That's how bad sequels happen. And I was never trying to rival any map, nor get glory! I was satisfied back when I had barely two or three playthroughs of the map during its first week, haha.
Besides, the sequel to Monarch of Madness will be more fitting and worthwhile, so expect that instead.
Yep, except, not at the moment. I took a short break because of College (which ended up being tougher than I had expected), but I'll try my best to work on it once in a while. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if I decided to get it all done for July 1st 2014, or July 1st of the year after that...
After all, both of my good maps came out on that date, so it'd be fitting to keep releasing maps on that very fateful day. Waiting that long would also give Minecraft time to update, and possibly release its final version! That would definitely make mapmaking a whole lot easier to manage.
Did I hear right? Was the song during the boss battle Papermoon from Soul Eater? I thought it sounded familiar... and there are reaper chop hands on the sides....

Well, considering the Jim Reaper's visual designed is based on Shinigami-sama, and the moon and sun are both straight out of Soul Eater... I'd say the odds are pretty good!

A lot of games that updated lots like Minecraft ended up getting their final versions and were left at the community's hands. Sure, they're still adding stuff, but it can't go on forever - I give them three years max before they call it final, hehe.
I haven't messed with the main post in a long while, so I'm not sure if it would look better now or not, but maybe one of these days! Also, been working on Minecraft stuff, but only slowly on my next map. I've mostly been building stuff freely to see where that goes, so maybe eventually I'll make a map filled with builds and no adventure... who knows!
When I load the save it automatically puts it in adventure mode so I can't break any blocks including the dig spots, and if I turn it to survival mode it spawns me in the middle of nowhere. Am I missing something? I'm kind of new to custom maps, but MoM seemed to work fine.
This map was awesome! I've only just started playing, but the map is cool and the resource packs are outstanding for one that doesn't need MC Patcher. I also love the Soul Eater themed moon! I am uploading a video right now. Feel free to add the video to this post when it's done uploading. My channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZG89I_uF2w__fjkmEFtaww

Final version? No chance

this looks cool
