This map was epic. The whole inside the ruins part took me a while because I couldn't find the last button, but that was cool. Those last two battles with the Overlord Zombie and the Guardian of the Crystal (trying not to give anything away) were extremely hard as I did this single player, but I beat it. Took me about 2 hours 45 min to complete and I would rank this map as one of my favorite adventure maps ever, right up at the top with Kingdom of the Sky and Eronev. Great work.

Just to let you know, me and my partner just played through your map and really enjoyed it. I actually really like the 'loopy' level design like passing over areas you've already seen before. Only in the last section did it become confusing, but I think that was because I gained access to areas I wasn't supposed to too early and got confused! The only other niggle we had was at the final battle. Once evil was vanquished we climbed up to the central platform and were unsure as to what to put on the trigger block. We assumed it was redstone related so we spawned in a lever and thankfully that did the job. But I just wanted to ask what the intended item was to go on there, and where we missed it!
Other than that though, really special map that I would thoroughly recommend any adventure map fan play. At times it felt quite reminiscent of Zelda and that's quite obviously no bad thing.
Thanks for a brill map!
You're welcome, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yeah I definitely had some inspiration from the LoZ series.
I can't figure out what I need to do to these redstone switches x( (The redstone torch on the lapis lazuri block)
Shoot the top bit of the redstone torch with an arrow (More specifically the top half of the block) and the torch should turn off. (Added more instruction in latest update)
I finally made my way through to the end, and I must say... this is one extremely beautiful, well-crafted map. Almost all of the challenges in it (except at the end) were parkour. However, it was the right kind of parkour; the kind that involves trying to find your way through a vast ancient city, jumping from crumbling edge to crumbling edge, while struggling to keep track of where you're at in the metropolis' maze-like tangle of pathways and tunnels. The quality of the builds scaled up dramatically throughout the map, and towards the end some of the sights were quite breath-taking. Redstone and spawner mechanisms were plentiful, and all functioned like a charm. And the final challenges were quite difficult and epic, albiet a switch from the parkour-intensive gameplay before.
I did accidentally skip the second half of the crystal powering by leaping to and climbing up a cave column into the chamber above. Other than that though, everything played out perfectly, and I had a grand time completing your fantastic adventure. : )

I appreciate the most the time and thought you put in to post your thoughts about your playthrough, and it's only fair that I respond to your feedback justly. I'm glad you enjoyed the map as much as you did, and I'll address your comment about the content skipping in a update later. I can tell you're someone who appreciates effort and work put into maps like mine, and I did so for people like you.
I couldn't help but have a look at your banner in your signature, and it just so happens that this map had similar development as you and your brother's, however, I only started in beta. From what I've seen it looks extremely amazing and on such a large scale is very impressive. I'm very much looking forward to the finished product, as features in maps like yours are what I enjoy the most.
Found some time to come back and update the Map so it's compatible with 1.6.2, while also improving a few things. Let me know if you come across any bugs/issues.
Heyo! Did a playthrough with my friends for everyone to enjoy!
And now that I've splattered my video all over this thread (>.>), I definitely saw the improvement in your mapmaking as we progressed, especially towards the end when it became detailed and less claustrophobic. You get many shinies for such an awesome map!
Fighting the Wither boss was almost awesome, but we got cheaty during the boss fights because of the number of mobs spawned (first boss was my fault >.>). The gauntlet and boss before the Wither wore our armor down to nearly nothing. I'm not sure Unbreaking 127 was working, but Unbreaking X would, though I'm basing this enchantment's effectiveness off Hypixel's maps. The setting was epic, but it also made it too easy for the Wither to beat the crap out of us and regenerate while his minions kept us busy.
Looking forward to SotK 2, hopefully with less buttrape. >.>
Not only does it have many twists and turns in the plot line but it also features a plethora of parcour, all of which adds to the map.
You have made a fun and visual masterpiece. I look forward to your next map.
I'm very glad you enjoyed the map so much
