Disclaimer: I am not trying to offend anyone here, nor am I bragging, nor am I saying this is a bad map. I love this map.
To all of you having trouble with I1/2... How?
I'm not great at CTM maps. In fact, I have died many times and never beaten Sea of Flames 2, both of the Uncharted Territory maps, Infernal Sky, and many other maps typically regarded as easy. No offense to Mattgeek, but this map just doesn't feel super hard to me. Sure I've died many times, but I have all the monument pieces except for the black wool and so far I haven't had any extremely hard moments. Maybe this map just suits my play style? Maybe knowing that this map is conceived as impossible motivates me? I don't know.

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.
Howdy MattGeek. Finally beat your map, normal difficulty the entire time. I had a blast. Here's my opinion on each area:
Spawn:
Easy enough. I triggered the cake on purpose and used the netherrack as blocks later on. Getting the white wool was easy enough.
The Dirt Temple:
My first run through I rushed it and only grabbed half a stack of dirt and some leather. After clearing most of I2, I came back and got all the loot. Enchanted Golden Apples? Really?
The Hall of Horrors:
I took it slow and eventually beat this area. The silverfish kept gaining up on me. Bunch of no good bullies.
Fear of Falling:
At first I tried rushing the area, but after losing all 4 pairs of feather boots with only one wool to show for it, I came back with ender pearls. Made my life easy, made me happy.
The Victory Monument:
I can not tell you how many times I miss stepped and lost equipment here (yes I can, it's 2)
The Swarm:
I tried multiple times to take this area on headon, I really did. Eventually I just bridged to the fleecybox, and made another half bridge to the tunnel to I3. I dropped through the ceiling and ran like hell. A cave spider pushed me off my bridge, and I had to use the enchanted golden apple to get my stuff back.
The BoogaLoo Swamp:
I hate this place. I left it until after I got diamonds, and took it on. It was still a nightmare
The Stairway to Hell:
I left the Fisher's Finest my first time for fear of dying, but I still made it. The second time, I barely managed to obtain it. The third time, I removed all the spawners and gathered all the loot.
The Deep Dark Depths:
Oh man, f*** this place. I went along the mossy cobble rail line at first, but eventually turned to rushing. The proximity bomb caused a lag storm, and charged creepers were everywhere. I managed to ender pearl into my hole I previously made in the iron deposit, and I made it out with one half heart. After coming back, I got to the fleecy box. I decided to mine down into it, and fell into the lava. If it wasn't for splash health potions I'd be dead.
The Demonic Temple:
No trouble here. I parkoured over the lava without dying, and I eliminated all the spawners systematically. A fun area, I think it and The BoogaLoo Swamp could've been switched. I guess some areas need to be easy and some need to be hard.
Stalagmites:
Nothing too bad. I removed most of the creeper spawners, gathered enough gold for the monument, and pillared up to the fleecy box. I had a total badass moment when I ender pearled over and just barely survived after wither skeletons poured into my box. The fisher's friend provided all the coal, magma cream, gunpowder, bones and blaze rods anybody could ever need.
The Falls:
I first attempted to use fire resistance and swim up the falls, but quickly found a better system. I used cobble to make an amazing bridge up to the diamonds, and I rushed them and the fleecy box. I used the enchanted golden apple to escape. I really enjoyed this area, pls make moar falls.
Avoid the Void:
At first, I took this area the intended way. I removed some spawners, but eventually it grew tedious. I made a huge cobble pillar with ladders and everything, and bridged over. The blazes proved frightening, but after a few tries I succeeded.
The Throne of Tyranny:
Oh man. Oh man oh man. Oooooohhhhh maaaaaan. This place. This f***ing place. F***. I started off trying to run it, and died fairly quickly. Then I figured I'd use beds as bombs to break spawners. I ran around, on fire, withering, being shot at, and just generally being sad. Eventually I used some of the gunpowder from Stalagmites and some sand from The Deep Dark Depths to make TNT. I used it on the funboxes and mined out the individual spawners until eventually I cleared the mess hall. About this time I investigated the upper area, thanks for the axe. Once I made it to the actual wool chamber, I placed a crapton of TNT and ran. Then I came back and used a pick on individual spawners. Eventually, I had secured a tunnel to the throne. Literally no spawners remained. I got the black wool, the diamond block, the red wool, and the green wool (I think it was green, I could be wrong). I felt amazing as I ran back to the monument. And guess what? I fell in the lava. I had to redo the Falls and Avoid the Void. Oddly enough, the Throne of Tyranny was the easiest on the way back because I removed all the spawners. I think there might've been some buried in bedrock though, because mobs still spawned in low numbers. I don't know.
Death count: I have no idea. 10-20? I don't care. I WON!

Congrats, inferachnid!
I knew that the super golden apple would be a surprise to people. A wise player would probably save it for a difficult area (Fear of Falling, the Falls, etc.) I purposely put it in an area where it wouldn't be used to the best of its abilities, since an impulsive player might use it as soon as they find it, essentially wasting a powerful item.
The 'boogaloo' swamp? It seems no one can remember its proper name: "The Swamp of Souls". The difficulty of that area really depends on your playstyle, I personally think that it is much easier than areas like the Swarms and Stairwell to Hell.
I'm glad you enjoyed the Falls, I feel that area was one of the best in the map.
I've heard mixed responses about the difficulty of the Throne of Tyranny. Some say its impossible. Others say they used ender pearls and it was a breeze. I guess it depends on the player's experience with CTM, or maybe their playstyle.

Any plans for another map? I'd be happy to beta test.

I'm planning Cubic Horrors #02 to be a fairly easy, short (3 intersections) map with a base block being sandstone, with the majority of the map having a cavern feel. Name is TBD. And if I get accused of copying legendary, I'll strangle someone.

The Barren Desert
The Brackish Depths
The Byzantine Darkness
The Bellowing Descent
Or are you using TBD as in, to be determined, and not an acronym for the name of the map?

Fairly easy in comparison to The Fire Beneath, or fairly easy in comparison to most maps?

Furries are cool.
Cameron's (halfpixel274) latest video of The Fire Beneath. Entitled "Falls of Horror."
Boy, you ain't seen falls yet. Just wait 'till IS4, assuming you make it that long. Now there was a true Falls of horror.
Furries are cool.
In this video, he's in intersection 1. The Falls is in intersection 4. So yeah, he hasn't made it to the Falls yet.

Fairly easy as in Spellbound Caves or Sunburn Islands difficulty.
