I've re-founded this thread to dedicate it to my new map in progress, World of Frinmecta. It will allow me to easily keep you informed about the advancements of the making of this new map, but also to get feedbacks.
You may have already played one of my previous map, such as The Lands of Reminiscence or The Forgotten Land. This new map will be close in concept: a large open world to explore in survival mode, with adventure features. It's close to the original game, excepted that I made the world myself. For example, here is a global overview of the current state of the landscape:
I've also made some screenshots, so you can see what it look like in-game. It's a work in progress, but it give a good idea of the final result. (I'm using a spoiler tag, to keep the thread clear)
As you can see, the biomes are large and the transitions are smooth. The variety goes to a Mediterranean biome to a kind of half-cold tundra. Others biomes could be added in an uncertain future, in something like an extension to the map. But first of, I need to finish what I've started. This lead us to the adventures features that will take place in the landscapes you have seen.
I don't have image for now, but it will soon. The creation process forces me to firstly make the landscapes and then the structures (even if I've already started some researches). In the main lines, the adventure features of the World of Frinmecta will allow you to make a quest to access to the EnderDragon. You will have to find information in the villages and explore dungeons to get your access to the End. For now, I'm thinking to do two types of dungeons, ruins and abandoned mineshaft, disposed in the map to allow the player to always find some action while exploring. It's not impossible that I will do secondary quests too, giving you good quality equipment that you would need for the final battle !
The release date isn't clear for now, even if I wish to finish it before the end of September. I would certainly allow me to add 1.8 features as well. However I still have a lot of thing to do before. Here is a list showing the advancement of the map:
Landscape making: 100%
Finishing (flower, caverns, ores, oceans): 50%
Style research and pre-made: 20%
Finishing (details and interiors): 0%
Villagers (with trade and quests): 0%
Objects (equipments, quests related, story elements, etc..): 0%
