To score a hit on his "weak points" hit the top half of the lamp

YOU MUST BE IN EASY MODE (or above) BEFORE STARTING THE MAP

Don't forget to grab a bow and arrows BEFORE pressing the button

If you started the map in peaceful mode it will kill the tracking spider and break the map, reinstall the map on easy (or above)

or if you have mods installed you can fly down under the lava and press the spider button.
