Well, I don't know if you guys know, but I like to make maps inspired in other games. My last try was a Amnesia the dark descent style map, but its stuck and the projects isn't movingon. So today i came up with this idea.
Have you ever played a game from the submachine Series? Well, It's a pretty interesting and myserious game and have lots of players arround the world and its own Wiki! SO I asked myself: "why not to bring it to minecraft?" and here I am with this idea.
Somethings that are in my mind to do:
*I would be something played in small rooms. At the fist ones there would be some signs telling a little bit of the story. Also, a jukebox with some songs. To go from room to room I want to use pistons. Not sure if the piston sistem will be like an elevator (going down) or it would open a space in the walls to another room and it would close as soon aswe get to the other room.
There would be puzzles and nostalgic stuff. Takingbreath views would be in the windows and all the walls would be made from bedrock, but would look like brick with a special texture pack. Also the glowstone blocks would be completely white, so if I make an elevator down it would look like the screen fading into a white light, like dreams.
And most important, would look surrealist. So vote and comment. With a big aprovement I'll do it. Without, maybe.
This is a little complicated, but I think there's a better way. Maybe you could have item frames (they can be empty) be placed by command blocks. And then you would be given a snowball. Each time you break an item frame, you get teleported to that item frame.
For picking up items, maybe you could have a block reshaped to be skinny, yet still flat. The block doesn't have to be easy to break, if you equip them with a diamond axe or something. Then, give it different textures for different... There are these special values you can use to store multiple textures in a block. I don't know the specifics.

I hope this was helpful in some way!
