oh wow i just tried recording the 4th episode and appearently it reset my settings so it has no sound so ill just make a new ep.4 that is after i build my crappy bridge lol
Oh, that sucks. I'm watching episode 3 right now. Also, I couldn't finish the challenge list cause I had to go to bed, but I'll work on it again right now.
I remember a map a whole ago that was pretty much this, there were about 6 squares, you had to build a bridge to the north to get to other blocks
the final one was a giant ass dungeon, i also remember a desert one with lapis in it
also how the hell could this be considered anything like skyblock
SB: Vastly limited supplies, you build your own damn island because you only get about 12 to start
This: vastly unlimited basic supplies, hidden good stuff, and you know GIANT SQUARES OF ROCK AND DIRT
People who think this is the same: Idiots
anyhoo, i did like it. and if you added anything, then good job.
Hmm. That's interesting. I don't think I made any other maps like this, so maybe someone else made that. That is almost exactly the same as my idea, but smaller...
But yeah, I have no idea. I just thought it would be annoying if someone ignorantly posted about this being a copy of SkyBlock without reading the topic or something.
I was thinking maybe, I should add the ore blocks to the squares. Such as Iron blocks, gold blocks, and diamond blocks. They wouldn't appear in veins, since they would give you 9 of that ore if you mine it once. It would make it more fun to mine, I think. Of course, they would be more rare.
Well, I'm currently adding more underground caverns, and adding chests to some of the caverns. If you run into a cave in the next version, you shouldn't retreat immediately. There might be a chest in it.
EDIT: Does anyone know what I should add to the chests? I have no idea what I'm gonna put in them. Possibly Melon seeds and Pumpkin seeds? Also, I'm gonna add some sand to the 1st square.
EDIT 2: I might also add vines to the caves, sort of like Terraria. If I didn't mention this earlier, I removed all of the cobweb at the entrance to the caves. It's annoying having to break through all of it, cause it wastes durability, it takes long, and you don't even need that much string.
I don't know if adding vines is a good idea, though.
Well, after working on the task thing for a while, I came up with this. It isn't finished, and you don't have to do all of them. If you forced yourself to do all of these tasks, it probably wouldn't be fun. Play it however you want to play it. I won't be adding this to the thread yet, since it isn't finished.

I wish I could show pictures of the underground caverns, cause there are lots of them. They look pretty good in my opinion, and even though I probably already mentioned this, chests will be in them, and have some useful things in them. Chests are kind of rare, and don't appear in every cave system. Chests will be in every square, along with lots of caves. I expect the next update to come out tomorrow. If not, the day after tomorrow.
Oh wow, that's great. Thanks a lot. You should try version 1.6.0 though, cause I'm uploading that version right now. You can do it whenever you want, of course. I'll subscribe to you on Youtube.
In fact, I'm gonna turn this post into an update post. So I'll just start over:
V1.6.0 is out. This was a fairly big update, so a lot of things were changed. I hardly even remember, so you'll have to find out some of it on your own.
Changelog
Moved the pumpkins
Added a huge ravine
Added lots of underground caverns un-attached to the surface in each square
Added sand to the first square
Added more ores to most of the squares
Added Coal to all of the squares
Added tasks to the topic
Removed all cobweb
Added sponges
That's basically it. Also, the 6th square doesn't have any natural cave chests since it already has dungeons in it. You might notice that the things in the chest are somewhat similar to the square's content... Anyhow, here's the download link:
This map is pretty epic, my friend and I have been playing it for about 3 hours straight... We've managed to create a huge tunnel system in the first block and mine every single ore in the whole block and die about 30 times each because of creepers. It took us 2 hours to find the cave with the cobwebs because we didn't read the explanation part. :tongue.gif: We made a bridge after taking everything and then an enderman spawned on top of our bridge to the second block... I survived barely while my friend lost everything he had, which was only about 20 coal and 30 iron and a lot of rotten flesh :smile.gif: It's an epic map and you should stick with it! Try adding more blocks at the end and fill the caves with treasures like a diamond pickaxe or a diamond chestplate or a golden apple or something rewarding because there are too many mobs that spawn and too little of an amount of ores. You should also do this thing where at the end, you find a bridge made of netherack that leads to a small floating hut made of netherack and there is a chest inside with a bunch of gold ingots or something and a sign that says "Good job, you have now an idea of what to do to these blocks to make them into a world, which you should name: MINECRAFTIA." and under that, a button which you press... and the floor dissappears, leaving you to fall into a room filled with mobs and lava... and you should also make the button activate a song made from noteblocks! If this is too hard... :tongue.gif: Well... it's just an idea. :smile.gif: Good day to you sir, and make this a great puzzle/adventure/survival map! Hope you take a second of your time to think about these ideas. :biggrin.gif:

Oh wow. That's a pretty big reply. I'm glad you're enjoying the map so far. And yeah, creepers are actually a pretty big problem. Thanks for the encouragement, though.
I don't really wanna add anything redstoney, or anything that is built by me. It's sort of supposed to be like Minecraft, but have a different style of playing it. Adding a floating Netherrack thing wouldn't really be my style, but thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it.
By the way, in 1.6.0, I added some stuff similar to what you mentioned in the 5th square. Just so you know.

Ah. We were playing 1.5 I think... I'll be sure to test it out!
mkay im back was busy with marching band so i didnt get to re-do ep.4 so ill do that tmrw when i get back from another marching band thing. ugh why did they have to choose this weekend
Oh, I forgot to mention that I removed the NPC village. That's sort of a big part of the update. It isn't really that fun once you get to that square, cause you can just run into one of the houses for shelter.
I also didn't know one small, little thing. You can't get cobweb by breaking it. It gives you string. You almost have an unlimited supply of string in those caves, so I'm not sure what to do about that. I might add cobweb in the chests in the dungeons. Not sure.
That's easy, you can just put water into a bucket and on the block above it, drop water. It will then wash away the cobs and you can even get your string. If it drops string that is. It doesn't always give you string.
On another note, this is a brilliant looking map. I cannot wait to get further into it. But it looks good so far.

Wow, I actually had no idea that happened. Except my point is, I don't want it to be that easy to get string. You can basically make a bow before your first night comes. Well, I removed the cobweb in 1.6.0 anyways.
Update: I decided to finally take a picture of what underground cave systems might look like, and some of the chests. This huge hole isn't a part of the map, since I just did the "removebelow" command with singleplayer commands.
The chests are pretty spread out, so it's kind of hard to find them. Some of them won't have anything in them, and some caves won't have chests at all. This is the first square, by the way.
EDIT: This doesn't really matter, but if you'll look to the right wall, you'll notice that there are lots of ores. Some spots are actually filled with ores, and some spots hardly have any. So if you're finding lots of ores in a part of your mining shaft, you should continue with that mining shaft.
Oh, that sucks. I'm watching episode 3 right now. Also, I couldn't finish the challenge list cause I had to go to bed, but I'll work on it again right now.

Yeah, that's fine. I didn't expect you to update, cause that would just be annoying for you.

The map versions never get to .2.. The last digit always ends in one. Most of these updates are pretty big though.
