I sorta kinda stopped working on it when 1.5 came out. Blame the powered rail sections.
Really though, it's been forever since I have just relaxed and played Minecraft normally. I still have yet to see any weather effects though - I wonder if maybe I'm on the edge of a desert biome or something ... I don't think I am, there are grass and trees everywhere. Oh well, I guess rain is rare.
You're going to hate me for saying this, but "when it's done."
:biggrin.gif:
Errm...
In my Megaprojects world, it's rained thrice in five Minecraft days...
I don't know if I'm in a rainforest biome or just lucky. I haven't had a thunderstorm though, sooo...
By the way, I am no longer scared of mobs in regular singleplayer, as I have discovered, thanks to your maps.
AFNERKIAJUHBRGHHH!
WHY DO I KEEP FINDING SPIDER JOCKEYS IN YOUR MAPS?!
So far I've found them in:
Cavern of Sky
Planar Warp (fitting)
Black Desert Underground
and Sea of Flame's Labyrinth.
I fount the (one of?) the 'ruins' on Sea Of Flame and it is scary.
The long tunnels are way different than the rest of the map.
I expected spawners to be embedded in the walls.
vechs, could you please switch the positions of the pillars and the glowstone? because of the glass, this is the best way to prevent water from coming in, and it looks stupid when the glowstone is on the inside.between the pillars
but i will eventually rebuild the ship and restore the pillars as soon as the room behind is dried up.
/e: done. ladder-suspended water to safe planks, dried up the whole lower deck inclusive “cellar”, rebuilt floor, roof and the cellar wall.
Vechs, I hate your guts. You suck. One day, you're going to get a phone call from the police, and they're going to say your mother and father have been thrown into a pit of lava. I will then come for you. Your going to come into your house and see a bunch of tnt lineing your carpet. You will then trigger a tripwire and blow up. (Lol) Just kidding, just kidding, your sea of flame map is awsome. However, I have died plenty of times, then I needed to start the world completely over because I lost vital items, such as saplings. Story: After collecting wood, I uncover the pressure plate that has tnt under it. Not knowing this at the time, I jump on it. After realising it was tnt, I begin screaming in my head "Momma, Momma!" and it blows up. I die. Love the map though!

A jungle map? As the person who is still working on a pyrotechnic lava trap, I believe I have an idea what I will do at after I win the map. It will be incredibly stupid and will involve me screaming "BURN CREEPERS BURN" while watching at a distance. Of course I'm a little saddened that the challenge of finding wood will be diminished, unless you do something cruel and unreasonable like booby trapping every tree or something... Darn it, I think I scare myself more than your traps do.
Yes, isn't it EXITING? I can't wait to spawn, walk to a tree, punch it, hit tnt by mistake, fall into a
pit, set off a fire that burns the map to ashes, and repeat. :biggrin.gif:
I've submitted chapter 24 of Kaizo Caverns to the MINECRAFTdotNET youtube channel to try to get more exposure for my channel, so I'm waiting to hear back from them...so it might be a day or two before its up one way or the other.
So...I've taken this lull as an opportunity to launch my SMP series Life on Bogota. I won't embed them here because its off topic, but if you've liked Kaizo Caverns head over to the thread I made for it or check it out on my channel:

i mean, why? i’d love to watch it now, so could you please upload it somewhere else for the impatient ones (=me)?

If I upload it somewhere else he won't accept it. Sorry. :sad.gif: Should only be a day or two.
Well, complete nobody here, popping in to say, hello and I've definitely enjoyed the one map I've played of yours. Well, mostly. I managed to finish Endless Deep (finally) today after putting off completing for a couple weeks. Legitimately, that is; your caches of accidental yarn struck me as too easy to be "genuine." Fortunately I remembered what I was about.
I enjoyed, the wandering around under the sea part the best, though that's largely because I had my trusty sidekick Adventure Door with me; indeed without it's faithful assistance, I would surely have perished in the crushing deep. In any case, it was entertaining meandering about the sea floor, and usually rather relaxing--without the fear of imminent drowning that is. My memory is a bit hazy, but I think you had a duplicate chest of the Brown (I think) yarn on the seabed, in addition to your accidental yarn stashes.
The tunnels started off rather tense, and kept me on edge for rather a while; unfortunately their general sameness got rather tedious eventually. Fortunately, the first time this was setting in, I came across the first big pit, offering a significant increase in danger. I managed to work my way about two thirds of the through it by running in, planting torches, and engaging in swashbuckling daring-do with zombies, creepers, et. all, which was quite entertaining for me.
The last third, unfortunately, was extremely tiresome, however. There were too many enemies to fight, so I had to go around, digging tunnels around the perimeter of the cave, and popping out occasionally to lay down a torch. It was (mostly due to Skeletons shooting Creepers) more dangerous than I'd expected, but it was nevertheless mostly very dull. But I got the Yarn (Grey, Light Grey and Cyan I believe) and continued on... and then I got the second big cave.
And had to do it again.
Uuuuuuggghhhh... I cleared the lower area, fortified it, and called it 'Fort Sloghead.' Which should give an idea about how I was feeling about things at the time. Then I sorta gave up until today, when it occurred to me (with Zisteau's unintended assistance) to start lobbing bucket loads of liquid hot magma at the problem.
And so, my boo companion, Adventure Door and I at last stand... victorious.

Grats man, that's awesome!
Endless Deep is like, 95% about making underwater bases and such - the tunnels and the Victory Monument are just a diversion for when (if) you get tired of derping about in the water. You are correct in your assessment, the caves are fairly plain... if you want a really satisfying underground experience, I recommend Kaizo Caverns. Or, Black Desert is pretty nice, too.
When Notch releases some more underwater related content, I will update Endless Deep (I'm hoping for stuff like seaweed forests, algae clouds (algae farms...), twisting coral formations, shark spawners, wooden "sunken ship" piranha dungeons, maybe toss in some enraged water elementals for good measure). But as the game is now, there is really not all that much to do underwater, which is unfortunate, because underwater bases are really cool. I also think the default Minecraft water needs to be clearer and easier to see through, because after maybe 4 or 5 blocks, it becomes prohibitively opaque... I think this totally shuts off what could be some really awesome gameplay opportunities underwater.
I was out cutting wood and suddenly I got a thunderstorm out of nowhere.
It lasted about 15 minutes real-time.
Made it dark enough for monsters to spawn (even on my torch-lit island!):
This is freakin' awesome, I love the weather. I really like how the sound effect changes when you get indoors or under cover - chilling out in your castle with the sound of rain and thunder outside is so relaxing.
Geepers Vechs you make these maps faster than I can die in them!
Just wondering how you're going to approach fire in Canopy Carnage? I mean obviously if the player decides to burn down the place with lava or a flint & steel then it's their own fault for wrecking the map, but what about lightning? It starts fires...
