Are all the gold relics on canopy carnage supposed to be so ridiculously op?
I mean, the tools are nice. They just reduce a time sink (golden ax, you will be missed).
However, the armor basically gives you god mode. If you use it, it trivializes basically everything about the map that is supposed to be hard (although I'm tempted to pull the set out of storage for the red wool).
edit for explanation:
The relics just have their durability boosted way up. This works fine for tools, but not for armor. Damage reduction is a function of current durability over base durability. So if you take some low base durability gold armor and edit its current durability really high, then you can end up with over 100% damage reduction rather easily (supposed to max at 80%).
Yes, you can actually go over 100% reduction. This creates the ridiculous scenario where you actually get HEALED when you get hit.
Yes, but the overshield doesn't last forever. In fact, from some LP's I've seen, when it does run out, it's usually at a hilariously bad time, and the player gets killed quite rapidly. I don't think I'll change it, although I might remove some of the redundant pieces. I know how the formula works.
But it's hard to take the time to go back to previous maps when what you really want to do is keep working on new ones...
Ok ya'll, it's been five minutes without a new comment...that's not right.
Anyways, I guess for compensation I'll ask a com-mu-nit-ee question.
Community Question: What is your favorite dungeon in a CTM map (doesn't have to be a Super Hostile map)
Also, realize when i say dungeon i mean a structure or cave-like thing that has a lot of spawners and monsters and traps, not an area in particular. For instance the stick castle is a dungeon, the area its located in is not, its a pretty forest island place that everyone loves.

My favorite dungeon was Tacos. I love tacos, so why shouldn't I love Tacos?

Seriously though, can we get it as an offical block? Please!?
OH OH OH I KNOW I KNOW
We can make the full smooth stone slabs like that by taking 2 normal smooth stone slabs and combining them in a crafting bench, sort of like how Chiseled Sandstone and Chiseled Quartz is made
Also, calling it. Vechs stole the fleeception idea.
This is not news if you've been here long enough. Red was going to use it in his "Bedrock Hell" map, but then it got corrupted and he gave up. I'm not sure if Vechs copied it before or after this happened though...
Either way, that is why you never want to post your ideas on this thread: There's a chance they may get used.

Ah yes. Quite the dilemma.
Post your ideas and risk them being 'stolen' or don't post your ideas and risk being called the 'thief' because someone made a video of it.
Of course with the second scenario you will often be called a thief no matter what the order of events.

IT WOULD TOTALLY WORK
That's actually a pretty good idea. Finally, we'd be able to have them normally!

Or make a floating map of any sort before the release of Skyblock and be called a thief, or make a floating map anytime after Skyblock and be called a thief.
Or make a floating CTM map of any sort and have it be called an IS copy. Pick your poison.
I remember playing that map in 1.2. The armor in the cest didn't break, but it didn't protect you that much either.
And snapshot info:
Textures for blocks and items now have individual image files (read more below)
Improved death messages
Improved naming (using the anvil) of containers and mob eggs
Trapped chests now give off the redstone signal through walls
Improved hoppers and made them controllable by redstone
Updated language files
Language files can now be updated via the background downloader (no need for a new Minecraft release)
In the picture above the change log, there is a picture showcasing a TNT cart and nether quartz blocks.
I have a new favorite building material.
Oh, and you can put rail tracks on top of hoppers now.

I don't see why everyone loves East Commons (the ones with the big trees and dirt and water, it might be west). For it's time, the area was ok I guess (I played Legendary fairly recently so I couldn't say) but now it's just bombs on a dirt ball with trees. To each his own I guess.
And for your community question, I've played a lot of CTM maps so I'm gonna name a few areas.
Vinyl Fantsy II: "Hello, Great Architect of the Universe". That area was insane. The rapid transition from peaceful to SWIMMING IN LAVA WITH DOZENS OF GHASTS AND CAVE SPIDERS left me stunned. Also, as I swam through the lava stalactite quickly losing health to ghasts, Minecraft decides to play a slow, happy song. It worked out pretty well.
Uncharted Territory II: The Storm. There were things flying everywhere, explosions, splash potions, and I was somehow still alive. That's one of the only areas in a CTM map to make me truly feel like a super hero, but more on that later.
The Fire Beneath: The Deep Dark Depths. That area was one of the only areas in a CTM map that truly made me scared. Is a charged creeper lurking beyond the void fog? Is a proximity bomb going to go off? Also, the iron proved very useful so it was also quite rewarding.
Nightmare Realm: Balestein. That is all.
Spellbound Caves: Black Heart Citadel. This is the other area that made me feel like a super hero. I think it was the moderate difficulty that allowed me to feel like I was making progress but not just rushing through an easy area. That grand finale made Spellbound Caves my favorite CTM of all time, VFII coming close.

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.
If you put lava next to that sandstone, it would then be an Inferno Mines ripoff.
If you put your lava anywhere else, BOOM SOF2 RIPOFF!

It's a floating island under a bedrock sky with a big custom tree on the top with a cave with an enchanting table with a single block of sandstone next to lava with another lava block 2 blocks right to it.
And below it is a continent surrounded by water with sand islands with underwater ruins next to it.
Then there's like green inland...
Yup.

Actually they're just fine, Jeb released a converter IIRC.
Also, they've completely killed off the whole stone slab. RIP
