Just got an error saying:Unable to Execute file:C:\Program Files (x86)\MCSkin3D\MCSkin3D.exeCreateProcess Failed; code 740.The Requested Operation requires elevation. Also for some reason my background color doesn't display it's only white even after I pic a new color. (update)Never mind I just reinstalled the application and it's fixed. Sorry about that.
Yeah, this is a weird thing with Windows. Running it as an Administrator should fix it.
this is awsome i just found it and its beter then older programs but if you can can you give us diffrent pen sizes?thats the onley
When you have the Pencil selected, click the little toolbox icon in the top-center of the renderer view. It will drop down the options, which includes Brush Size.
Hello, just wanted to chime in about the backwards surfaces since 1.9 or whenever it started. I made my first skin awhile ago and noticed this problem and have been trying to see what's going on. Not that many people even seem to be aware of it and many good skins are being made incorrectly for actual in game.
Long story short I started a thread on planetminecraft.com here. One of the people that replied to it tweeted (on twitter) Mojang and got a response from Jeb here.
As far as I can tell so far they changed it on purpose, said little about doing so, and don't expect to change it back. I for one would like to see this issue being resolved before more skins are made in the incorrect fashion.
By the way, love your program, keep up the good work.

You can download the beta of 1.4, which includes a few features for both working with the 1.0 model format and converting 1.8 models to work with 1.0.
In the future will higher 'res' mods be supported. Say if I wanted to do a 64x64 texture pack, could I use MCskin3D?
Yes, texture packs will be supported. Textures up to 4096x4096 (per "box", so to speak); not the entire atlas. Each square in the texture pack will be considered a separate texture.

Radical, sounds like you're on the ball and thinking ahead. Either that or I'm lagging way behind and blind as a bat; wouldn't be surprised! This should go a long ways towards helping fix skins. Anyways, thank you for the prompt and tiered response. (PM)
I was actually going to ask you how the program handles sending off skins to the minecraft network, and then thank you for your wonderful program. Now that I see my question was covered in the op ^^, Great program!
It takes a while for some people. There's a reviewer on YouTube, uhh.. can';t think of his name now, but he does unboxings and stuff. He was like 18 during his first tenures, and he sounded like he was 8. Throughout the years (he's a year or so older now) his voice finally came through and within like the next 30 videos he sounded like an adult. It was so weird.

I would hope so!
The beta stuff I've just been kind of pumping out. MinecraftForums aren't a good place to keep up to date with MCSkin3D because of how forum-y it is - I'd check PlanetMinecraft's project page for MCSkin3D, or MCSkin3D's Facebook page, for as-it-happens news.
Just downloaded the program because of the added Mine Little Pony support! Super excited, the program looks fantastic.Unfortunately while my Steve skins are working fantastically, my pony skins are still loading on a Steve model! How do I fix this?Edit: Just noticed that the new addition isn't in the patch notes. I'm guessing it hasn't been implemented yet. Ya tease!
It's coming in version 1.4; I tried to mark my post in the thread so that it was made sure it wasn't ready. I will release a beta soon with MLP support however - check the Facebook page (linked on the main post) often for updates!

It basically just imitates a real browser. The password data is sent over HTTPS, and saved locally using a seed and a salt that is dependent on specific static data contained on the local machine.
So I wanted to suggest a challenging addition to the program (I know how much programmers love those... e_e hehe) for a later date...
It would be incredibly handy to implement layers. Incredibly. Nevermind how handy it would be to have multiple files open simulateously...
Just a couple of unrealistic ideas for you. One of those "Gosh wouldn't it be nice if this versatile editor that does w, x, and y also did z?"
Anyhow. Thanks for the speedy reply to my last enquiry. I look forward to the patch and/or beta!
Layers were suggested multiple times. The idea is there, we just aren't sure exactly if we're going to implement it yet, or how we're going to go about it. The main issue is that we'd still like to maintain PNG compatibility, so what we'd probably end up doing is having the full flattened image as the PNG, and use metadata to store the layers. It's a crapshoot, but we'll see what we can think of. The nice thing about that is that it'll even save layers if you have downloaded the skin online.
As for multiple files open (a "tabbed interface", so to speak), MCSkin3D technically already does that. All skins and models are precached on the GPU, and you can switch to another skin without losing any data on the previous one.
Wow, fantastic reply again.
The reason I would want multiple files open would be to move parts between files or directly compare/copy from/to different files. I mean, it's moot without layers or a select tool, anyhow.
I've been playing around with it a little more and it's really understatedly powerful software. I'm really impressed. Are all the thanks in the OP the people who work on it? Or is it just you? Or something in between?
With the selection tool, copy/pasting will be possible. The only real issue is it would require layers, for obvious reasons (using a temporary layer to store the copy/paste or move targets), so chances are layers will be tackled first.
I'm trying to make it less understated. I'm not a very good advertiser myself, but we're working something out with Planet Minecraft, as well as Verdana, the one behind Mine Little Pony. I find it a bit saddening that people are still using severely outdated software to do their Minecraft skins (this doesn't count artists who use Photoshop, GIMP, etc), and this software alone (versions 1.0 through 1.2) only took about 2/3 weeks of work total, yet a lot of the other software has been around for months and never evolved past the base point it started from.
There are a few others working on it on and off; the current workload of 1.4 is all mine, but I'm hoping that the other programmers can jump in soon, as the roadmap for 1.4 is gigantic.
I'll try to get a beta out of 166/167 soon, which will include full support for the four Mine Little Pony models.
We appreciate it!

We'd like that too!

thats the onley
Indeed.
Can you give me any more info?

Thanks! You can try the beta out at any time (check our Facebook page linked on the original post), which currently has mob support.
