I have tried this method before and I still got very confused because Blender is 100% new to me, is there a smll tutorial on how to make a .gif image like you have here?
I would like to make one similar to this for my own skin.

How do you pose/animate and also how do you change the skin? Also how do you add more blocks? I'm sorry I just really suck at this kind of stuff but I really want to make a cool pose
Here's my first attempt. How does everyone get that grey background instead of this? Also I feel as if mine came out really rough (pixel wise) around the edges... Any suggestions?

You need to go into the world settings and change horizon and Zenith color. Oh, and off topic but don't you do youtube videos, Jeruhmi? I think I remember watching your intruder proof house series.

Could I have some help with a problem I keep getting? This is my first time trying to add a rig, and whenever I try to open it in blender, I always get the same message: "C:/Users/Sam/Appdata/MinecraftBody.blend is invalid"

Is there something I'm missing here?
Delete the file and try to re-download it?

I don't understand the question.
You just open the file with Blender, replace the reference skin with your skin, and pose/animate.

How did you get your character to hold a weapon?
He had to make it or he found one for download somewhere else. There are a ton of tutorials on how to make items in the game.
(This guy uses 3ds max but it's the same idea in Blender)
