So the new snapshot came out along with a new skin layout, basically they added 2 layers to every part of your body and each body is separate now so you have a left leg and a right leg that don't share the same reversed skin same with the arms. This is what I look like with no second layers (except hair )
And here is me with all my layers on
If you look between the two you notice that it looks like I actually put on a jacket around my tshirt and put shoes... on my.. shoes, I have to fix that
Anyway I just thought that was cool and me and my friend found out that the options
Are server side so you can take of a "jacket" and pretend your hot I think this is cool for many reasons and could be useful in machinimas!

Here you can see the side texture that I've mentioned earlier. Can you see that only my right leg has the correct texture at the side?

Sorry, I was trying something tricky because I love the second layer Idea. I tried to fix it myself before you posted and failed, going to try your version and if it doesn't work, I'll just keep tinkering
EDIT: Your version has the same issue that my first try had, I'm suspecting another derp of mine reading the guide (The image) I'll keep ya' all informed [I should make a tutorial when I finish LOL]
EDIT2: Guess what? The left arm and leg had diferent texture mappings than the right ones, I didn't notice it at first because my legs are identical, but then: Fixed!
Can you give me your skin to test if this was an error from my side? Maybe you just copy-pasted the legs and arms and they work fine...
We have a "Guide" on making the new skin. It lacks the issue that I had (It's not a bug, the steve.png has the adjustments that I've done to my skin)
Go check it out and send some example skins
My skin looks much better after all the time I spent making little changes and testing it in game (lab cloak thing moved to outer layer). I hope people leave all the layers on, because ATM my placeholder under layers looks pretty bad and my hat layer needs to be on for a eye thing I [invented? (not seen it anywhere else back when I made it)]). For my first time using paint.net, I think I did the first iteration pretty well (previously used a 3d skin program). Here. This may be extremely broken, so if it is please let me know. I couldn't find a use for the three pixels in the corner; you'll have to figure that out on your own. THIS DOES NOT HAVE ANY 3D EFFECTS; It just fixes your current skin to the 1.8 texture sheet.

thanks, just wanted independent arms + legs (i.e. left is separate to right), the arms aren't symmetrical tho.
