I've been playing around with some new textures after a several-year hiatus, and I thought I'd post about it here. I don't know how far I'll go with this - the shear amount of things to be textured is overwhelming these days - but I'm enjoying myself so far, so who knows. Maybe this will turn into the next Dandelion.
As you probably guessed from the title, Doll House is a simple pack. This pack is a spiritual successor to one of the first packs I ever made, also called Doll House, but this one is much better. The textures are inspired by the clean, cute, slightly plastic-y textures you would find in (you guessed it) a doll house, as the name implies.
I'll post progress updates as I work on this pack. Feel free to comment, criticize, make suggestions, or just pop in to say hi.

This is the most important point I find when working on textures these days— there's just so much to day with the new minecraft versions! It's impossible for me to think about mod support with the number of textures that have to be done.
The pack so far looks so amazing. The shading and lighting detail on some of the blocks make it look so unique-- is it the stone slab? Really liking the look of the pack and it's a definite improvement on the OG Doll House. The breaking animation looks a bit awkward in the middle stages though... Sort of swastika-ish. Maybe reduce the angularity of those later stages?

I've been trying out a new lighting style - I'm glad someone noticed!
And yeah, I noticed the swastika thing. I tried to fix it, but I obviously didn't do a good enough job. I'll have to revisit the texture.
I don't know what it is but you seem to always make stuff that I think are attractive to the eye. If this becomes the new Dandelion, that would be great!
Even if it doesnt, I'm willing to help in any way if you need it ~
You could even somehow merge Dandelion with this maybe.
Not gonna lie though, Dandelion will ALWAYS be my favorite texture pack, no matter what.
Pros: the mushrooms and flowers are to die for and the colors are absolutely delicious
Cons: the leaves for the trees are a bit sporadic, not sure if that was the intention. Also the ores could possibly change into more, who knows ~

I'm glad you like it so far.
I'm not sure how to interpret your two 'cons', though. The leaves are pretty decently thick in-game. And I don't want to make the ores fancier (?), it wouldn't fit.
Thanks for your offer to help, but I don't see how you could, unless you were volunteering to work on mod support. But that would need to wait until I have more done for you to work from. But still, the offer is appreciated.
New textures! Rails, cactus, and recolored redstone block:
Oh I couldn't possibly help with the mods, I have no idea how to do any of that anyways.
I understand what you mean about the ores, I get that it wouldn't fit.
And I keep forgetting that just because it looks one way in the texture pack, doesn't always mean it'll look the same in the game.
So nevermind about the leaves ~
Steelfeathers, why are you so good at making texture packs, wtf?? Dandelion has ALWAYS been my favorite texture pack and Im SO SO SO glad that you plan on making this new one that is as cute as dandelion! Thank you thank you thank you! <3
Btw I love the textures for the wood so much! omg.

I hope you find Doll House to be just as satisfying as Dandelion when you have a chance to try it out.
I want to get more finished before I post a download link, though.
And for those interested in this sort of thing, here are the two WIP texture sheets. Those with keen eyes will notice that there are some new textures that I haven't showcased yet. I'll take in-game screenshots of them when I have a good setup.
That font is absolutely adorable! How did you manage to design a slab serif typeface with such a limited set of pixels? I love how this is turning out. Glad to see your art back on these Forums.
With regards to the GUI, I very much like the menu buttons. I think the crafting and inventory interfaces, however, could benefit from more padding and maybe a bit more decoration.

I studied fonts a while back to figure out how they worked - I guess I've just gotten good at applying my knowledge.
The screens could use a bit of edge detailing to match the buttons, but I want to keep them simple over all. That makes it easier to finish all of them, and it also keeps them from being distracting.

Gorgeous work my dude. Getting a texture pack feature complete isn't impossible it's just a sloooow crawl.
Crazycraft II '99 Deluxe : 1.2.5DEPRECATEDProsdod's Pack '77 Arcade Turbo Deluxury 8 Cylinder 1.5 for Minecraft version 1.8.X: The spiritual successor to Crazycraft II '99 Deluxe.

Ah, I remember the good old days when it was possible to finish all the terrain blocks in a day....
Glad to see you're back Everything works so nicely together. Lovely work
Ugh, cute is right.

For some reason I always feel that your planks are superior to the rest of you textures, this applies to all of your packs.
Loving the bricks btw
You know it's serious when I start working on GUI.
Here, have a hotbar and crafting table...
More GUI, plus carrots and snow:
Menu buttons and a brand-new font:

Absolutly awesome work!!! I'm really looking forward!

I am too. Otherwise I'd be looking backward, and that would be no fun. :3
