So I have gotten everything else to work, but I can get tridents to look like the texture when holding it or an Ender Pearl, Ender Eye, Chorus Fruit, or Snowball to look like a different texture when renamed using the same trick. I have Googled until I am blue in the face and could really use some help.

So, some good news, I got the Limbo's Eye working, and the item versions of Jelly's armour working, and the item version of Miisoiso Straw hat working, but I can't get the actual armour models to work. Please help.

Got it figured out. It wasn’t because of the coding. It was because I copied and paste and didn’t change the item.type_of_armor= code to diamond for Jelly and iron for Miisoiso. 🤦🏽♀️ This can be locked and buried now.
No, it has to be specifically "UTF-8 without BOM", because the BOM is a hidden letter Windows programs use at the start of the file, essentially placing a letter out of bounds of the root curly brackets breaking the code.

Btw, I am using Atom to help with the properties text files because just using the normal text file and changing it to ANSI encoding was not working.

You need the encoding "UTF-8 without BOM" for all resource pack files, but I don't know if Optifine requires the same encoding.
I think it was Linux or Mac where "UTF-8 without BOM" is called "Western Style"?

Alright, I will try that but it works on the others just fine that I used with Atom. Will adjust it in a little bit.

Notepad++ has UTF-8 without BOM.
