I have tried everything and I'm getting crazy because of that xD... Literally hundreds of solutions, which are either just "how to change the texture of an item depending on the damage" but are only for weapons, or other tutorials that simply were a bit too complicated...
Basically, since Minecraft 1.9 (I believe), any item that is given to a player with a custom damage value will have no texture at all (that sucks)... I JUST want to bring those textures back in the most simple of ways, for the nether star, for example (nether_star:1, for event purposes).
I've tried a few things, but nothing seems to work... CIT doesn't, default method doesn't or I'm doing it wrong.
Please, can anyone explain to me, or give me the solution, in the most simplest of ways possible xD... That would be life-savior to me, and would stop preventing me from tearing out my hair!
You can't add custom textures based on damage values to items that don't support damage values to begin with. It's why vanilla custom items are all made from weapons or tools with durability. Optifine's CIT only detects damage values that are supported by the game.
