Basically I'm trying to turn the dispenser into the chest model. I tested it separately on stone and it worked fine (aside from the left and right sides being the checkered purple and black thingy) but it doesn't work on the dispenser. I'm assuming that's because it calls some of its texture from the furnace? I'm new to creating models so I'm not sure where I might've gone wrong.

More information please. Post your model and a screenshot of what's happening that you don't want to have. It's obvious you made a mistake... but figuring out which of the many, MANY possible mistakes you made is going to take a bit more information than "I tried a thing and it didn't work."
And when you post your model, please use spoiler tags or else post it to Pastebin and provide a link. Thank you.

My bad, I'm not trying to be one of those people who asks for help and doesn't give any key information in solving the problem. I should've worded the post more clearly. I'm mainly interested in knowing if it's even possible since the dispenser takes most of its textures from the furnace, I figured that might be the issue since the model works on other blocks like stone.
As you can see the left and right sides are that purple and black checkered pattern. The block I tested it on is stone. I'm using Optifine but I've tried it in vanilla and it's the exact same. I'm assuming it must be possible to make a model for the dispenser/dropper since you didn't say it's impossible right off the bat
As far as blocks go, one is basically the same as the others. As long as your blockstate and models are working together, you should have no problems. The exception to this are the pesky "block rendered as entity" cases like chests and signs, but that wouldn't apply here as the block isn't really a chest. And yea, I didn't pick up on you asking about the possibility. For some reason my brain just discounted that bit due to the fact that if it weren't, none of the other textures would be showing up either.
I'm still guessing here because there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that model file that I can see. My guess is that your texture file is either missing, or has a different name than what's in the model file. It could also be that it's not a perfect square. Check those things first.
If not, please post a session log for a game in which you've tried the pack. It should pretty much tell you exactly what's wrong.
