I'm trying to load in at least a 256 pack, if not a 512 pack. But im running into an issue i have never had before. I have loaded in 512 packs a good few times, without issues. But now, when i load in a pack. minecraft sits and thinks, then just shows me the pack screen like i had loaded no packs in. I've tried dedicating more ram to minecraft (as much as -Xmx8192m -Xmn2048m -Xms2048m) i've tried using vanilla, forge with optifine, and just optifine with the ram settings, i've tried using the latest java file, and i've tried even updating forge and optifine. All with the exact same results. It frustrates me that this issue now arises, when i've not changed any hardware/software settings since it was last working fine. (matter of hours ago)
I can run x128 packs with kuda shaders on ultra with about 30-40fps, btw
Currently running with a xeon x5650, 12gb ram, 2 r7 270x's in crossfire, and ample storage space (6.5tb)
Need any more info, just ask!
Check the game log for the error message. I suspect that there are more textures being loaded than the game can stitch onto the texture atlas (exacerbated by the fact that blocks and items are now on the same atlas). Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the problem.
