I decided to make some tiles with Peyton's palette.
I'm trying to avoid every texturer's default designs, meaning not doing the simple 4 plank texture, or the brick cobblestone. I'm trying to do something unique for each and every texture.
It's difficult.
Dark Oak Planks, Birch Planks, Cobblestone OR Stone Brick (Not sure yet), Brick

Jungle Planks, Acacia Planks, Mossy Cobblestone.
Those look great.
IMO I think that the cobblestone could use shadows under more rocks, but smaller shadows.
okay let's see how stale I am, been something like 2 years since I did any form of texturing
have this old palette I had lying around (yes, I'm aware there's some dodgy purples in-place of blues, blame my red/green colourblindness for that. And no I don't understand why it's shaped like that, it's around 3 years old)
Holy... I haven't seen you in YEARS! You're like... one of my texturing idols!
Edit: Actually, three of my four texturing idols have shown up. xD Peyton, Steelfeathers, and now Minihilly!
tbh I'm not a fan of the side grass Peyton, everything else looks great though. I love the way you did the gold o:
neoix, I think it depends on the placement and contrast of the colors, like you should be able to notice every color, if you understand what I mean. Maybe some of Sheep's aren't 100% simple, but imo all of Peyton's are. I think they'd both be qualified for the challenge though, the rules on what's simple and what's not don't seem to be very strict with this one.

Yeah, there's no real hard line about what's 'simple' and what isn't. As long as it isn't blatantly not simple, then I'm perfectly fine with it.
Personally I think it's too stylized to be considered 'simple'. It's basically pixel art with a very limited palette.
But that's just my opinion.
Another opinion: It looks amazing! You should totally work on this pack... even if not for this contest.
Thank you! I'm aiming for a sort of cross between the kind of feeling I got from both Gravity Falls and My Little Pony and pixel art proper, actually. It probably doesn't conduct itself to simple art too well. I'll wait to see what the person running the contest has to say. If it doesn't make it, it'll probably be another side project of mine, and I'll get more color freedom, I guess.
As a side-note, Owl City's music is awesome for motivation. : D

I wouldn't say they're too detailed. And you're in that list 'cause your art skills are freaking amazing.
They still look good either way. xD
And I decided to take you up on the swirls challenge, Bluberry.
I made another palette, this one's 43 colors and shaped like Squidward's head. The white background IS a color in the palette
If we're allowed to submit multiple palettes, add this to the list. If not get rid of the other one and keep this one.
woah waoh waoh Speedy, don't get rid of your first one, I already made textures with it
(The 'L' is for 'Leben', the name of the pack)
@Seradicus
Very nice, except for the birch planks, which don't look like planks at all. Wool, perhaps, but not planks.
It's meant to work more for some sort of thatch beach house than looking like actual planks. So far it's the only one I'm not sure of, though.
Also, I've decided on making the cobblestone as stone bricks. I have an interesting idea for them.
Will report back later.
Is it okay if I continue on the pack I was making for Simple pack showdown 2 but never finished?
Here's a palette:
Gonna need to edit them a touch to make them more simple probably but it's a start. I'm using sera's palette.
I'll upload my palette shortly!
Oh, by all means keep going then Drazile o:
Awesome textures so far everyone. Especially Sheep, your art is always so pretty
What I have so far, Still have some things that I haven't quite nailed yet. Using Fuzzlechan's palette.

Is this not simple/stylized enough?
Produced while listening to Rick Astley and Owl City.
Yes, I did the title screen logo, because my priorities are skewed.
Using Bluberrypie478's palette. I wish there was another shade of green!
Also, my palette.
I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".

I'd say it's past the line of what's simple and what isn't.
'Mkay then.
The palette's fine though, right?
