Hi everyone! This is just a small thing I'm doing in which I make a new texture every day. I'll post updates in this thread, and feel free to give your criticism, comments, or any other feedback!
Very cool. I really like that you're posting dailies. Hopefully you have more success with actually posting something every day than I did when I was working on Mint Flavor.
As for the textures themselves, I like everything except the stone. It seems too... artificial. Like it's been intentionally carved or machined. In particular, it bothers me that the waves in the stone are aligned in perfect columns. It reminds me of the brickwork that people often do around raised gardens, only vertical instead of horizontal.
The moss on the moss stone could also stand to be a tad bit more pronounced in my opinion.
Everything else is quite good though. The ores are interesting and the precision cuts on the iron and redstone ores actually work well with the stone as it is. Likewise, the overall style works quite well. It's a weird blend of artificial and natural... not being quite either. If that's what you're going for, you can pretty safely ignore my complaints about the stone since you nailed it perfectly.
Keep it up! I'll be following this pack with great interest!

Haha, I didn't know that you posted textures each day you did things on Mint Flavor, but this idea came from you. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure about the stone. I wanted to make it look like layered sheets of rock but obviously failed. I will probably re-do that after I warm-up my dormant skills a little more. I've been drawing a lot and the techniques are so different.

Thanks! The redstone and iron are supposed to look like they are wrapped around and under the sheets of rock. They will probably be the only ores that will change, possibly the lapis though. I will change the stone as previously said... I like the idea of semi-artificial worlds, but I don't think that that's what I want to make this.
Thanks! That means a lot coming from such a prominent texture creator as yourself.
It continually amuses me that people think I'm "prominent" even though neither or my packs have had any mainstream coverage or recognition. I'm just some opinionated jerk who likes posting feedback and seeing people post dailies of their packs.

Regardless, I'm glad my feedback helped you.
While neither of your packs is particularly well known, you are actually a very prominent member of the texturing community here on the forums.

That makes me a prominent poster, not a prominent resource pack creator.
And yea, now that I look at it the emerald could us a bit of internal light refraction... though it's also justifiable to say it's too marbled with the stone or too impure (natural emeralds tend to have LOTS of flaws) to produce a good internal refracted highlight.
These textures are seeming alright. They have this weird thing going on where they are textured in a realistic style, but are designed in a simple style.
It is definitely interesting.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The official Bluebird continuation is underway! Please come and help keep the pack alive!
First textures to include custom models. Tallgrass and Grass Blocks both have custom models.
Two things:
1) I absolutely hate that band of dirt right below the side grass. It looks so out of place considering how cracked the rest of the dirt looks.
2) I'm totally stealing part of the idea for the grass model you just posted... partly because it looks very similar to the leaves I'm working on and your made me realize that the same concept would apply extremely well to grass too. Bravo.

Thank you. That's what I'm going for! The style is influenced by a realistic version of PureBDCraft I saw.

Sorry about that, it was just an idea. I could smooth the cracks into it I suppose.

I saw something that goodlyay did a long time ago and I made my own version of it. Thanks anyways!
Eh, high post counts are overrated. Quality over quantity and all that.
I never accused you of stealing something. I was referencing how psy-no, Alvoria said that he wanted to steal yours. If I gave you the wrong impression, I apologise.
Thanks for reading!

Thank you! :3
I will likely do pixel art-ish things. If I get bored I might share one of my drawings interpretation of textures.
It's been modified, and cobble looks very different.

Duly noted.

The shading on the emerald and lapis being all around the edges makes them look plastic-y to me, but everything else is great!

Edit: Oh my god 1k posts! It only took me 3 years...

But congrats anyway.
Yes, they were made in a hurry while the rest had time and attention. They will be redone at some point.
Emerald comments noted.

I saw something that goodlyay did a long time ago and I made my own version of it. I didn't steal anything.
Edit: this seems like a stupid post to be a new page, does anyone have requests for the next texture they'd like to see me do?
