Also, would it be relevant to put something in about varieties of English and how you may wish to translate British English as well as other languages to cater for a more international audience?
Spelling Error: Thanks I will fix it right now.
English: Are you talking about in making custom language files for resource packs, or are you talking about for the Guide?
Not all people use American English so it may be felicitous to add in that using en_US will result is default American text strings.
OH ok, I understand what you are asking me to do now. I will add that to the guide! I can't believe I overlooked this small detail. Thank you so much Deonyi!!!
EDIT: I have now add it to the Guide. Tried to explain as best as I can. (I'm bad at explaining some things ._. )
In the Guide's "Explanation of all of Minecraft's textures" section, I have updated the "Blocks" part to match the current 1.8 snapshot (14w30c), & I also start the "Items" part too & made it match the current 1.8 snapshot too. I also updated the "Entity" part to the current 1.8 snapshot, & started the "Misc" part & made it up to date to the current 1.8 snapshot too.
How do you make the new 1.8 3D textures? I can't find it anywhere. Like making the 'Sword' have 3 layers instead of 1. Paint.Net wont let me keep the other layers. Please help?
I want to make a texture pack and everything. But i don't know what an archive manager is. halp.
An Archive Manager is anything that can open .zip files & .jar files. You can use WinRAR or 7zip if you want. There are a few other programs that you can use, but those 2 are one of the main ones.

If you mean a 3D model for items, then look at the links in the "Custom Block/Item Models" section. Insomnaic_lemon made a guide on Vanilla models, there you can help find how to make Models. If you are not talking about the 3D model system, then tell me what you mean.
I mean items that cannot be placed like a sword for example. I mean like another layer for it so when you hold it in your hand it looks like there are 3 pixels on the side instead of 1 so the item would look a little bit more bulked out. So if you look at the palm of your hand that would represent the texture of the sword, the max is I think 16x16 for an item so if you turn your hand 90 degrees you are limited to only one pixel but in 1.8 they made it so you can go over that limit. Thats what I meant by add more layers. I can't figure out how to do that though. Is there some new program that your suppose to use or something?

There is no way to do that without the use of Item models if I'm correct. I can try to see if there is another way to do that, but I don't think there is.
Hi, I looked around he guide but didn't find this- how to make a screenshot the texture of a painting? So paintings are your screenshots? Thanks
I'm assuming you know where the painting texture file is & that all painting are there.
To make a screenshot a painting, take the screenshot you want & the "paintings_kristoffer_zetterstrand.png" file & open it up in an image editor (Photoshop, GIMP, &/or Paint.NET). You edit the part of your screenshot that you want to be a painting & it will need to either rescale the painting file to the size of the screenshot so it can fit OR downscale the Screenshot to fit the painting you want it to replace. Once that's down, you can then merge all the layers together & save/export(depending on the program you're using) the final image into a .png file that is named "paintings_kristoffer_zetterstrand.png" (or just overwrite the original "paintings_kristoffer_zetterstrand.png" file).

But when I resize my screenshot to fit the biggest painting it's blurry because lack of pixels is there any way to make it more clear
When I resize a screenshot to fit a painting in paintings_kristoffer_zetterstrand.png, it's extremely blurry because lack of pixels how do I make it clear?
And I can't find Cobblestorn Walls anywhere in the textures folder

What program are you using to resize the picture? In paint.net the resize has options, nearest neighbor will give you a non blurry image but will look exactly the same if it is 2x 3x 4x 5x 6x.

I'm fairly proficient with resource packs by now, but i still use the thread regularly to look up stuff - very useful.
By the way, a rabbit template:
~Image Snip~
Thanks, I plan to make it useful for Resource Pack developers of all types(beginners, masters, & everything in between). It's good to know I'm doing what I planned.
Also thanks for the Rabbit Template. I will add it to the Guide.

Gimp 2.8
I'm not sure what the setting is but there should be a box for the sampling mode.
Cobblestone Walls use the Cobblestone texture
When resizing use "nearest neighbor" interpolation
