I've just made some new texture for the crafting table, looking for something recognizable and new at the same time. What do you think of those?
It's meant to look like a pileup of plank, like this
At first, I didn't like those black lines. Then I kind of grew to liking it, because it gives the thing depth and seems realistic. I'd perhaps like to see the crafting bench in a few varied screenshots though; not so sure the dark contrast seems to fit quite so well with the rest of your pack at the moment.
13th that cow set is awesome and Dali was a fantasic painter and extravagant . *really he was an , an epic aaahhaahhsshole but so are most people who referred to themselves in the third person...*
Whew Sorry it took a moment for me to get with you guys, I'm always bustin ass XD
edit - Hoodoo, I'd recommend playin with some CTM (because the two sides are always on corners rather than opposite sides...) Have the planks 'alternate' with north/south and east/west where the one would have side/end/side/end, the other would have end, side, end, side. (I'll draw it out if my explanation is crap XD)
@samothj: I think I'll use your idea for the cobweb, it looks brilliant; i've never find how to make a cobweb on floor or on corners look realistic, and you just did. You've got pretty talent with CTM.
Well, I didn't actually do any CTM with the webs, I was just thinking about it. Does it look like I've done something? It was made to look good in its natural environment, which is where I've taken that screenshot (sort of, the walls are stone brick but whatever). I am still stuck on what to do to make it look right when it's not in its natural environment.
Okaayyyy, thanks to XSSheep I was able to fix a bunch of the things that broke for me in 1.6, hello CTM, however, if anyone has working vertical CTM for iron bars, I'd very much like to copy it. Previously it worked with mcpatcher but not optifine (didn't test mcpatcher this time, but was able to fix the glass so optifine liked it, and I figure it'd be the same now). Uhm.
Hay and stuff. I'll keep the black clay solid black 'cause you can make interesting illusions that way, dunno about the other ones.
I broke my water/lava some more lol, and randommobs are not randomizing still but that's fine for now.
You do know that to get your randommobs to randomize, you only put the base varient in the entities folder, right? The varients go into /mcpatcher/mob. If they have their own folder in entitites, give them the same folder in mcpatcher/mob. If they're loose in entities, just drop them in there.
Also, i'd suggest either adding betterglass support, or filling in the center there with some frame... actually, on the left side there, is that a wall of glass, or just a square made of glass? If it is indeed a full wall, it's rather hard to tell. It needs more substance to it. Betterglass is actually surprisingly easy, i too was put off by the horror stories people post about it, and i can see how it could go wrong, but stick to the defaults in the McPatcher thread and you'll have no trouble.
Excellent clay though. You're still making awesome color choices.
I like, as usual it makes me happy. But I don't know if there's enough contrast between the metal and the uh, cowhide. Are the horns antennas?
Oh, for the other cows, the eears look a bit like oval indentation, rather than an ear. "Too even" is part of it.
edit 2: thanks, that fixes the mobs
Well, ingame the metal stands out a bit more than in the animation for some reason.
See what i mean?
The horns are just horns... within the limitation of the model. Unless you mean the brass horns on the sides of the head, in which case those are ear trumpets, which were what people used before they had hearing aids. Beethoven was pretty well known for using one back when he could still kind of hear.
Anyway, i see what you mean about the ears, ill see what i can do about that. I'll probably just make some stick-on texture just big enough to cover the old ones and tint them with curves rather than doing it the right way. Because sometimes the right way is wrong... at least it is when you're moderately lazy, which i am.

So life issues have been getting in the way of me texturing, but am trying to get back into it...
These are paintings btw. I've gone back to redo mine and upscaled them to a 32x format, more details fun! These are the one block wide paintings, that I thought would work good as storage signs... think the first one may be added to one of the wider signs as 'building' don't... fit in the space... may chang it to misc storage.

That's actually an awesome idea, which I'll probably end up using too.
Hey, does anyone know of a way to randomize the leather overlay textures? I want to make the leather chestplates look like netball/basketball bibs: but it looks unusual if you are on a server (for example) and everyone has the same lettering and number on their bibs.
BTW, I want to make them look like that because leather armor is only ever used to easily indicate teams on servers.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible to randomize armor or any entity except mobs, but in that case it's because of randommobs rather than ctm being possible. But i am not entirely sure...

Go for it I find paintings are not used that much, so why not give then a sort of use then? I'll have normal paintings as well, but having some as signs adds just another use for them.
There are 10 varients. 8 common, 2 rare. 5 colors of cow, male and female of each.
The rare varient is a legless steampunk cyborg hover cow thing.
The gears on the side actually do animate ingame. Hopefully it gets the idea across that there's some sort of gyroscopic hover device inside the cow.
What do you think?
EDIT: HAPPY PAGE 1800 EVERYONE!
It's a moustache like Dali's.
He had an excellent moustache. I hope one day to have one so glorious. Until then, i've given it to a cow.
The regular one is good, but the firing face looks as if someone has given it a very unpleasent surprise.
I'd say make the eyes a little less round and get rid of the glowing eye brows.
Too bad the pixels on a minecraft guy's face are too fat to succesfully re-create that magnificent moustache.

Sorry, excited. xD I wish I was as awesome at textures as everyone here. >< Guys need to stop making me jealous.
