While i don't have any pictures to show of my updated Ghast, since MCSkin3D isn't working for me ATM (May need to redownload) I have taken both Daan and kris' suggestions, and applied them to the Ghasts. There's a better fire effect for the Firing Ghast, and I've made the Normal Ghast's eye and mouth half closed
So I notice most people just slide the hue slider over when applying hue shifting to a palette, and the reason I have never done this is
How do you apply something like this to grays? Less saturated colors will have much less noticeable hue shifting, and I hate inconsistencies. I have always just applied transparent blue/yellow where appropriate, but...
I can't think of what I'm trying to ask. Is there a different way people do this? Can somebody explain to me why they're OK with hue shifting this way?

Well once I pick a color I manually change hues for each color in my pallet. So I'll have like a saturation of 50, and when I want a darker shade I will change it to 55. That way I have control for each color.

Made water. I kinda like the pattern, probably gonna play around with the highlights and some detail, but it seems like it tiles well and fits in the world.
I really hated that ugly default color, this one is so much more vibrant and colourful.
Edit: OH, also, I made some particles that resemble the color of the water, but when I see them they're the really dark blue from default. I take it the solution is in the MCPatcher help thread?
Or someone could really quickly tell me what I need to do. :3

Lovely pattern and colours, really fits the pack's theme. Nicely done.
And I believe there is a file called particlecolor.png, but I can't be sure. Go and download Misa's Realistic pack, I use her as a guide for what images to use haha!

@Doc - silent attention is better than no attention. If you do get 1000 downloads a day, you probably have over 480,000 downloads on Synthetic Reality (if my estimation is correct) - that's better than most packs here, I'm afraid.
You are well known as an excellent HD texture artist around these parts and you are the creator of the Texture Artists Union. 1000 downloads a day with all of that on your plate is simply amazing.
You couldn't update often if you tried - between the Union and off-screen life, it's simply not plausible.
basically i categorize packs as... true to minecraft, or themed.
a true to minecraft pack will have torches as torches, glowstone as a glowing rock, grass as grass, trees as trees, cobblestone as cobblestone, creepers as creepers, etc.
a themed pack (like broken anachronism for example) might have torches as tesla coil-like devices, glowstone as filament blocks, grass as... weird ugly green carpet i should really do something about, trees as surreal representations of trees that have been turned into paper and planks and refused to die, cobblestone as rock shard tiles, and creepers as eerie red gentlemen with cuttlefish eyes and far too much dynamite.
that would be the difference.
also, i get frustrated trying to play with a pack with so much as a single unfinished block, so i tend to just wait until a pack is entirely done before downloading.
iirc, synthetic reality is themed after exactly that: an intentionally artificial take on reality, thus it would realistic, but have thematic elements not true to default minecraft.
Dat tiling...... Fix it and it will be great.

There's yet more to come!
I blew up the pic for a better view
Not to bad If I say so myself

Wait...so you can texture mobs with that program?
I want to gobble it all up. It looks tasty.
No but very nice work, I love the mushroom! You should take a day time pic too, though, just for good measure :3
EDIT: PAGE GET! BAM!
EDITEDIT: Okay apparently not...
That mushroom is excellent but the pores are too big for my tastes.

Heh, thanks.
All I have to do is pumpkin stalks, breaking animation and netherwarts!
Comments?
It's been that way for ages and I like it.
I want comments on the new stuff.
Brewing Stand, Giant Mushrooms, Jukebox.
I didnt really like this at first, but seeing the whole terrain.png in full bloom makes me want to try this.
You see that green button with the plus? You dont have to click it, and I am not gonna force you to do it.
I try to make everything seem... "too" real
Thanks for understanding. I really am a busy guy
Bingo!
excellent choice, moozipan
Can anybody guess what those ores at the bottom are?
