Well that's the thing with popularity. Unless you want to regulate the market, you socialist!
In the interest of furthering your social cause, heres my first idea:
If a pack maintains the #1 position for some (longish) duration, it is moved to a permanent position in a hall of fame. The hall of fame has to be on equal footing with the browse button, cause otherwise you're punishing a pack for being popular. Which is not cool.
But what if two packs are always trading 1st and 2nd place? A pack deserves to be in the Hall of Fame even if it has a close competitor. I'd say once a pack reaches a certain amount of downloads it gets kicked to Hall of Fame status.
Oops. Was checking out the order of packs in Recent Popularity and looking at their download counts and realized it was still doing Overall Popularity upon initial load of the page. Fixed now. And it looks better.
...Maybe it's time to feature Darkening, the fast growing medieval texture pack? After all it's more popular at the moment than three of the featured packs... (toady toady)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Medieval builder and texture artists. Also totally awesome.

I try uploading things, but it just says invalid upload.
They are all pngs, I'm using the correct dimensions and everything else.
I even tried uploading things that worked before, but now they aren't.
(I'm trying to upload a creeper texture and two skeletons.)
Well It would seem the downloads are broken! The download no matter what has the packs 3 default text files, but everything else is gone!
By the way nice customizer! It works extremely well, 99% of the time that is.
I am 90% sure this is our hosting provider's fault. Something to do with permissions or what not. Actually make that 100%. A few of our web development tools don't work completely either....
Everybody just stay calm and I think we can get through this. Just don't panic.
I imagine they will have it fixed within the next 24 hours at worst.....hopefully.
The site is now back up! Download and upload awayyyyy!!!
There was a minor issue that required the access of our hosting provider so we had to wait for them to resolve it. The code causing this issue has been rewritten to give us more control over this in the future so we won't run into this problem again.

I put it on the list. I'll toss it in once our hosting issues are resolved...

Something seems to be wrong with these 3 textures when uploading by filename:
I can't upload the default images from the mod either, it has the same problems with separating the textures.
I could try to separate them by hand, but the dimensions of the individual parts are unusual... Is this my only option or is there some fix in order?
