I've made this texturepack in Photoshop, I'm actually not sure what resolution this is, It's either x512 or higher, that's for sure, but I'm not certain of it. I'd like you guys to give me some feedback on it, whether you like it or not, what things need to be changed, or if it's even worth releasing.

Here's some pics.
It's very detailed, please don't hate on me for not knowing what resolution it is :/ I've made a change to the way the grass looks, It's more curvy.
For some reason the mobs are a slightly lower resolution than the terrain. Anyone know why?
you guessed it, Nobody had done it before, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I think I've seen other texturepacks before that used filters; one which made the pixels like individual 3D tiles to gives the blocks a more mosaic kind of look. Though, I don't think I've seen any like this before.
It seems like an interesting idea. I'm actually wondering if this project could evolve into turning Minecraft into a 3D oil painting. x3
If you look in the mobs folder you should see a file called spider_eyes
That is an overlay that goes on top of the spiders at night time. Maybe it's a problem with that?
If not I'll download the pack and see what I can do.
Thanks, every time I apply the filter I change it around a bit so everything doesn't look exactly the same, for someone who has never made a texture pack before I think it involves some effort, that coming from a texpack newbie :3

Wasn't exactly my intention, I don't even know what my intention was when making this pack :>

Fixed the spiders, just got rid of the spider eye overlay.
So it isn't the most innovative or 'new' idea. I mean you previously stated that no one had done a texture pack like this before, yet there have already been many.
Filter texture packs aren't always well-received since...well.. all you do is apply a filter, whereas many people put in the time and effort to hand-paint their texture packs. It's good that you're experimenting when starting out with this, but I would advise giving the pack a "hook" of sorts, as well as creating more, or all, custom textures, to make it more original.

So I should just completely stop development of this because you said it's unoriginal? Also, What I meant by "Nobody had done it before" was I had never seen anyone try this before.

"Nobody had done it before" and "I have never seen this before" are two completely different things.
No one is saying that you should stop producing this texture pack, but it's unoriginal and nothing new. This will not take off and is likely to receive little attention and low ratings from users/viewers. The thing about this pack is it isn't thoughtful. It's easily created by anyone within an hour and isn't your work per se. There's a large difference between editing the work of others and making your own textures.

I could make a wheel out of wood and put it up for sale, but it would be a waste of time because there are better wheels out there, and I would go out of business very quickly.
By all means, continue with your pack. However, there are far better packs out there.

Though personally I'm not a fan of hasty-looking edits to the default, I'm going to try and solve your spider problem.
The reason it's white is because either you've messed up the transparency of spider_eyes.png somehow, or you've set a colour other than black as the alpha channel for it. For some reason Minecraft's engine doesn't really approve of other types of transparency.

That isn't what I'm getting at at all. You're free to continue how you like, but originality is a huge factor in how these types of projects are received, and it can be a lot more satisfying when looking at the finished result of a texture pack that was built from the ground-up instead of a quick filter application. You've uploaded this pack to get feedback according to your OP. This is feedback, and it's here to help improve your project, not tell you to can it. Just keep practicing if texturing is what you enjoy, and try to form your own personal style.

Just realised... FIRST!

And trust me there have been so many other attempts before this texture pack.
So?

I might as well stop then.
