You obviously haven't noticed how well this topic worked. Taehl's posted screens so frequently, she's gotten tons of great feedback. Plus, not releasing it has built up more hype, and prevented anybody from outright stealing the textures, which would have killed this pack.
You're just mad that you can't use it yet; don't worry, it's almost done.
Most of the comments are asking for a download link or commenting on the random pics. If it was just released already they have 2 times as much :L
Also "not releasing it has built more hype" thats ********, its only pissing people off for a texture pack that might look good in screenshots but sucks in game....we really dont even know if its worth it yet
Also HOW THE HELL is NOT RELEASING a texture pack for everyone stopping theifs If they dont want people to steal the textures then why even make this thread about the texture pack if they aren't going put up a download? I mean as soon as they do someone is going mix the pack with 4 others and claim it as there own.....I mean if someone is trying to release a texture pack not releasing it to ANYONE is the only way to stop others as claiming it as there own....They should just release it :/ its going happen anyway but at least this thread's date will help it along saying this is the real marker of the texture pack.

Also, the pack DOES look very good in-game (I've used it) and is worth the wait.
The gravel looks much nicer now, at least compared to Lilyos picture.
On another note (yet again), the cobblestone looks very tile-y. There is a horizontal line which repeats itself, and there's a chunk which is way too easily spotted, as part of a pattern.
You can see this the best (at the image you just provided), at the wall to the right.
Also, is that Mossy Cobblestone, or normal?
To me, it looks like a dark version (i.e. not the so-called "Lite" version) of Mossy Cobblestone.

I feel they both look bad tbh. I've always loved brown gravel like in JohnSmith's pack or Doku's. But either way, lighter gravel does go better with your pack than dark gravel, though the one you posted before the dark gravel is a bit too light.

anyway on subject,....that recent bridge pic....is that mossy cobble stone?
So here's my quick review. First of all, awesome new changes. I love the mossy stone in particular.
I like the new lightstone, but I feel it would look even better with a little border around it. Something like what you did to the glass, though maybe not brown. The mossy cobble looks great with a border around it for example.
The new wooden planks look great and they go really well with things like chests and workbenches. I actually feel they go a bit too well together, as in the colors are too similar. The chests, workbenches, jukeboxes, doors, and trap door are all almost the same color as the wood and I think they'd look better if they had some differentiation. Nothing too big, just a slight brightness increase so they stand out more against the wood. The lock on the chest I also think is a bit out of place and big, and there's too much white in the bookshelves. I've also tried the TME paintings and I can't say I like how they look against things like wood. They're just too dark to fit the pack and just sort of blend with the current texture instead of standing out against them like the SoM3 paintings.
I love the biomegrass for the most part, especially those little small areas of random change in color. It makes the grass more dynamic. Although I think you went a bit overboard with the amount of brown you used. I used to love the green grass in the previous version, but it's now been mostly replaced with darker brownish tints :c
Like this right here for example, it looks amazing. The green grass complements the brownish spot nicely and makes it look like the grass is more worn our or dying there. It's that green grass that I really love and I think you should add more of.
Then you get to something like this where the grass is almost black and start looking extremely out of place against other texture. And please don't go and darken up the sand and other textures now lol, just lighten the grass texture up a bit and maybe add more nice, light sort of "calm" greens to the grasscolor.
Oh yeah, and the purple gravel doesn't look good in my opinion. Did you try making it brown with white/ gray rocks in it or something like that?
I used to have chests, workbenches, etc. appear as if they were made with different types of wood (pine, cherry, oak), however, that looked horrible and thus, I remade them to be similar. I guess I could try your suggestion of just tweaking each's lightness a bit, maybe that would work. As for the lock, anything wider than two pixels looks too big, so I figured I may as well make it iconically oversized.
As for the white in the books, I can't really do too much about that other than darken it some. Changing their colors would make them inaccurate to my own bookshelf. :wink.gif:
I think the brown grass colors is due to Minecraft favoring almost-desert biomes. Fixing it has thus far eluded me. As for that dark spot, I can't lighten the grass without lightening ALL grass, which I don't want to do. Is that dark area in a forest biome? I made forests darker on purpose, but if they're that dark, then I need to ease up a bit. If that's not a forest biome, I don't know what I can do to fix it.
I've already tried the oft-repeated dirt/brown gravel idea. I don't like it. It doesn't stick out from all the other browns in the world, plus, I can't add grey rocks to it due to resolution limitations (if they're more than a pixel big, they look awful, and if they're just one pixel big, it looks awful in a different way). Thus I'm sticking with a pure-gravel texture.

On the gravel, can you post a pic with it next to the dirt/stone/sand? Its hard to tell if they clash if they arent near each other.

Just make sure you don't post the actual textures to show people what you mean (no distribution, remember).
It's not infallible, but it should at least deter some of the lazier thieves.
