Some of the textures look very similar to the painterly pack, but if they're yours then they look nice.
The grass is a little heavy.
I believe this texture pack predates Painterly. If I remember correctly Axel's first release was for Infdev, or shortly after. I am honoured he let me continue this historied and beautiful pack.

I would like to thank you for continuing this texture pack, I was broken-hearted when I saw Axel retire from doing it. It wasn't my first TP but definitely one of my favorites. Two thumbs up.

Thanks mate, No worries. It is a labor of love.

Sorry I've been gone so long... Kinda had some hard times hit me.
But, I think I am going to start back up with mod support though (for 1.6.4 mods that is). (Maybe starting work on texture support for Reika's GeoStrata mod...)
And I still think that you should offer the alternate versions of this pack somewhere, along with older versions.

Hey Mate,
Glad to see you again. Please let me know when you are satisfied with a mod extension and I will link it here.
As to a customiser, I have begun that project, unfortunately nothing happy to report as of yet, I am hopeful to have good news soon though.

Thank you so much for updating this pack, I've been using it exclusively for years and was crushed when Axel stopped updating. My one request (other than a customizer) is clear class panes. To me the textured panes defeat the purpose of windows because they block nearly all visibility. Thanks again!

Thank you. I am working to get the customiser back online. I agree that some of the selections are not the ones I would have made. These are the textures picked by Axel so as the default I will keep the textures.
Guys,
The next release is out. It fixes a mistake I made and adds some thinks that is needed.
Happy MCing

Thank you so much! This pack has always been my favorite, and no one has ever made a pack even remotely like it. The cozyness of the textures, appearance and everything, it's all that a texture should be, and you can still save your good FPS too. I remember when I first saw the new cobble texture for this pack, I was sold. It's the things like that, the way this pack makes the old ugly textures look beautiful and lively, that's what makes this pack so good.
I must commend you on the adjustment of some of the textures since picking up where Axel left off, the new netherrack texture is much better, and the swap of the old Adamant texture to serve as the coal block really fits. Please keep this texture safe as it has always been, and let me explain what I mean by that: Most textures make extreme changes to the looks of blocks, so if you build a structure in one texture pack, then switch to another, you might have some odd looks going on. With Forgotten Lands, going to few the structures that others have made using their own texture packs, is completely safe, this pack will ONLY make things look better and never worse. That is what makes the pack so safe to use at anytime in Minecraft, and I ask that you keep it that way.
You've done a great job, thank you for keeping the ball rolling.
So I did notice a slight bug in the textures. One is for beds, I'll include a picture, where the texture on one side is half switched around, perhaps this could be easily fixed with a quick flip of the texture. The other bug is with the doors, similar to the beds, where doors on a certain side have their textures flipped.

What minecraft version are you on? There's a bug with minecraft 1.7.2 that does this.

Hey Valtros,
Thank you very much and I understand your concern and request. I will work very hard to keep FL 'safe' as you have defined it.

I think Trevomine has it there. I know this was an issue with MC 1.7.2. If you are having this issue with MC 1.7.9 or 1.7.10, please reply. I am not experiencing the problem when I test.

Axel, thanks for creating and supporting Forgotten Lands for so long; it is the best pack I've found, bar none. The community owes you a great debt.
Kyctarniq and Mirthos, thank you for continuing to develop this great pack! I look forward to seeing your additions and I hope you can get the customizer up and running again.

So, i have gone ahead and updated the pack to 1.8, since Me and Kyctarniq started it, I might as well continue it since he left. I created a new thread as I can't edit this one. I have added the new doors, only have 1 photo at the moment but will be adding more soon.
I also have a 3D model pack for this texture pack in the works. It will just contain the models and not the textures so you will need both the texture pack and model pack in order to use it. Its in very early stage development but I will be posting it soon.
I don't imagine it was a hard fix but a derpy mistake as we all do. What's important is that's fixed at the end of the day what can I say.
Watch me play games on YouTube!
Also check out the [16x] Forgotten Lands resource pack!
hopefully in a later update the customization will come back
Me too!
Axel left us the source of the PHP customiser but I am having difficulty getting it to run for me. I am still trying but i do not know PHP.
