I think the "bloody" is more because of the design rather than the color of the redstone. If you use some imagination, it looks more like a blood spray or something than just dust on the ground in a line. All the extra pixels on the side kinda do that. Not a big deal or anything, just pointing it out.
I tried my own at making a redstone texture. I always preferred the redstone that looked more like a line, rather than spread out.
Everybody may have a different preference, but what I'm trying to do here is an essentially faithful pack-- deviating from vanilla when vanilla is IMHO bad. This doesn't look to me to be one of those times.
I've not used a vast amount of texture packs yet, but of the six or so I've downloaded, I like this one the best. It's a vast improvement, and I look forward to whatever you decide to add to it in the future.
The only thing I've come across that I wished were different were less prominent lines on clear glass blocks -- darker, semi-translucent, etc.
Thanks!
I haven't done any CTM on glass yet, in part because how transparency is treated is in flux, but that's something on my radar, and I'd likely go in a direction like you describe.

I get that it's supposed to look vanilla. I wasn't saying it HAD to be changed or anything. I was just trying to point out why I think they thought it looked 'bloody'. And also what I'd do to fix that a bit. It's still one of my favorite texture packs.
Sorry, I don't like replying to something without trying to contribute something. Criticism, explanations, etc. I think "Hey nice pack" is kind of a useless comment to make. It shows appreciation for the pack, but no pack is perfect, so why not reply with something useful instead?
"Present" Trapped and normal Chests (with a special version on Christmas day)
Rain turns to Snow (sorta)
Ideas:
Pumpkin face turns to star
Animated Christmas lights on Spruce leaves.
Rose/Poppy turns to Poinsettia
I don't want to do anything that makes the identity of a block unclear-- like turning grass to snow, but i'm open to other ideas you guys have-- though i'm probably not going to add a ton of things.

No problem. I thought it was worth explaining why i wouldn't take your suggestion.

The "zombie pigment" look nice. Can't wait to see all the variants.
Also, I just noticed how epic the xmas wool looks. I'd consider using those textures over the vanilla ones. Although, it would be awesome to see each pattern in each color for use in a mod or such... That actually may be worth looking into...

Thanks. The lost opportunities for cool textile patterns is what i regret most about being "mostly faithful".
You could alway delete everything except the wool, and use it as a woo-patternl add-on. Quite possibly i'll use those or similar patterns when i get around to making the "less Faithful" version of Lithos.
As for a extra-wool type mod, i could see it working like this-- you craft two wool blocks one over the other, and you get a patterned cloth block with a patterns of those two colors, with perhaps the bottom color begin the dominant color. Of course that's a lot of new blocks and graphics.

Yah, those kinda of patterns are very nice. And from what I heard, adding new recipes and blocks is rather simple to do and it is usually harder to get the texture. So I could at least see a mod where you could craft 2 wool of the same color on top each other to get the variant versions. While it would be cool to see each wool in each pattern style, that would probably take a lot of work. Although I guess you could just pick your favorite few designs to use for all wool.
Either way, adding a mod to reuse the wool textures from the xmas pack should be do able. I'll see if I can find anyone interested in doing it. And if I can't find anyone, I'll look into trying it myself whenever I get around to learning coding =P
Hey Eleazzaar, can I use some of your textures in my private faithfulish texture pack, which i wont distribute, only in my videos??
Yes, if you don't distribute, and you credit Lithos and provide a link back to this thread with each video. What part of the usage section in my OP confused you? It covers what you are asking about, but i want to improve the wording if it isn't clear.
I've started working on the less-faithful, prettier Lithos add-on. Stained glass will be the main difference (in the first release), but i also have a nice light map nearly done, and some existing Lithos textures which will be replaced in the main download by more faithful textures. Lithos will also get some new mobs.

Sounds good; Looks even better We really need to find someone who will add some of those alternate glass, wool, and such textures into a mod though so you can use them alongside the faithful lithos =D It could just be the Lithos Mod even.
eleazzaar, I cant find where to download the christmas add-on pack. Could you please put it up for download if it isnt, or tell me where it it is if it is already up?
Thanks in advance.

I've started a Pre-release program for Lithos. At least once between any two public releases, i'll make available a download of the current state of one or more of the Lithos packs. The intention is to foster additional feedback and criticism, without the need of investing the large amount of time it takes to put up a release.
The pre-releases will only be made available to a select group, made up of people whose contribution to this thread and/or Lithos development have been above average. So how to you get added to this group? Sorry, it's not by asking for admission. There are two ways:
Provide above average useful feedback and constructive criticism, or aid the development or promotion of Lithos in some other significant way.
I thought i should explain this in the thread since there may be comments posted that refer to a version of Lithos not yet publicly available.
A couple comments on Lithos Luminous, the less-faithful pre-released add-on. Luminious relies on MCPatcher more than basic Lithos.
One major feature is the light maps (MCPatcher required). This controls the color and brightness of the various kinds of light in minecraft. You should notice the night is bluer, and placeable light sources are a bit dimmer and redder, so you should be able to tell the source of the light just by looking at it. I hope the dimmer torch/lamp light isn't annoying.
I've also updated regular glass with "better glass" (MCPatcher required). I'm trying to make the glass slightly visible and grainy. How well that works seems to vary by light and dimension.
Also though the process of making the different colors of stained glass is the same the grit/grain in the glass appears much more visible in the dark and desaturated colors. Noticeable, or am i being oversensitive?

OK first comment on the pre-release, it is great and quite nice, is it possible to make lava and torch light red and not glowstone/redstone lamps? I think the light should be a tiny bit more yellow, as when I went caving I so it's need. The glass looks great IMHO. I was in a swamp and I saw a white creeper. I guess there is some kinks to work out but nonetheless, great work!
I find it amusing I was the first to vote on the poll (I picked item icons, which I believe, along with blocks, are the most important part of a texture pack).

Yep, it isn't right for everything-- that's why i'll be putting it in an add-on.
It looks like the Curse download widget isn't working. I've added a fall-back link on the first post, or you can just go here:

Is it possible that the creeper wandered in from a near-by snowy or extreme hill biome? They don't change colors when they cross into new biomes.
