Yes, you need to get Vattic's (original Faithful artist) permission then credit him accordingly for using his textures. Just increasing the resolution then changing 1 or two things doesn't make it your work. (P.S. Thanks Taiine for the copyright liesson.)
You don't need to ask for permission if Vattic already gave it, look it up before complaining, he correctly linked his pack and thats all that was required by Vattic.
