It might be in the continuation project's best interest to show a picture or two in the OP instead of linking to the old thread so more people might be willing to try this texture pack which means a bigger community which means more people contributing by making new textures. I know I wouldn't have tried this pack unless I hadn't have stumbled upon the old thread. A lot of people when looking for a texture pack look for pictures and don't really read through the OP to find a possible link to pictures.
First of all, thanks to everyone for continuing Eldpack (my favourite texture pack), you're all doing a great job! I was wondering if you could tweak the hardened clay colours a bit though. I just think they're slightly too pastel; my "red" barn looks pink.
I was noticing that actually, i'll definitely make them a bit more dull and more brownish next time I get a chance, probably sometime tomorrow.

I've been meaning to do that actually, for some reason I kept putting off taking some screenshots, but I'll get to that as soon as I can tomorrow, as well!
EDIT: Surprise! I had some spare time, so I just decided to do all of it tonight. I de-saturated all the clay blocks, and tried to add a bit more of a brown tint to it, so hopefully those turned out a bit better. As for the screenshots, as you can see, I took the time to take a few and put them as I saw fit, so let me know what you all think of them and their placement! :3

They look great! Glad to see the op looking all fancy. At some point you might try one of those screenshots with an arrangement of all the blocks you can fit on the screen, and only show the best looking blocks

I was thinking of doing that, but it was pretty late, so I didn't feel like it, but I'll definitely do that sometime, maybe even later today
EDIT: Just put the picture up, I took this map and updated it with all the new blocks that have been added since 1.0 (well, most of them anyway, might have left out a couple blocks that aren't quite finished :3)
Stupid 1.6 resource packs!!!
How do you put the files into the resource pack!?!?
Are you referring to using resource packs, or making resource packs? For using them, you just have to put the folder (containing assets and pack) into the resourcepacks folder in the .minecraft directory. As for making them, you can use this to turn 1.5.1 texture packs into the new resource pack format.
Guys, if there's so many texture problems, everyone grab your Photoshop and take a shot at your own Eldpack textures! It's not like we don't want whatever you make or whatnot, as long as you can keep Eld's vibe, why not just keep them around as extras anyways? So try your luck at anything that isn't satisfactory on the continuation!
Good point. I've adjusted the hardened clay blocks in an effort to make them similar to the vanilla colours. Not very "Eldpack-style" I suppose, but I liked the vanilla colours. In case anyone else wants them, here they are.

They don't look too bad, but when I think of Eldpack, I think of brighter colors, which is why I tried to keep that theme when making the stained clay blocks. What does everyone else think about this? If everyone likes his better, and thinks they fit the style fine, I would be happy to set them as the default. Either way, I'll include the other ones as alts, if anyone prefers them.

When looking at all the blocks in this texture pack it's not hard to find out that one of the basic themes of Eldpack are the low contrast and slightly washed out looking colors that look brighter but less saturated. The clay blocks in the vanilla texture pack have a low contrast look but with higher saturation. But I think that for Eldpack to fit with the vanilla texture pack they need to have the less saturated look of Eldpack on top of the low contrast look of the block in vanilla. Now the clay blocks we have now in the texture pack follow this theme well in my opinion. I think that the clay blocks shown in your picture are too saturated to fit the theme of Eldpack when taking the vanilla textures into account.

Yeah. I changed them mainly for my own use and just added them here in case anyone else wants them. I agree that colours too close to vanilla aren't really in line with the rest of Eld's colours, but I made the changes because I particularly wanted red clay that looks red. Maybe there's a way to accomplish that while also having it match Eld's style, but I'm no artist. I do like the clay colours in this pack, but I just wanted something a bit different.
Just put up a small update, including the alternate hardened clay blocks, and a more up to date 1.5.2 that includes the small updates I added, such as the enderchest, zombie villager, ender crystal, etc. Also fixed like, 5 guis or so that weren't quite lined up correctly. Next update will probably include, in addition to anything else that comes up, a transfer of the old alts file into individual files in the hopes of making it more convenient for people to use.
I wonder if there's custom eldpack music and/or sounds?
Not currently, although if anyone has the ability to make such things and have them fit, I certainly would add them
On a seperate note everyone, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow morning, and I'll be back 2 weeks from then, so any updates, contributions, or changes related to the pack will have to wait until I get back. Please keep contributing though, I would be so happy to come back to a bunch of people giving more textures and suggestions!
These two screen shots show that the line on the quartz pillar is unnecessary and in my opinion ugly and also it shows that the darkness of the types quartz vary which also doesn't help so if you could please lighten and remove the line on the bottom of the quartz pillar block that would be greatly appreciated.Crap code dident work
Haven't played in 6 months and I just saw this for the first time. Did I make that title screen? I think I remember doing it but I can't quite remember, either way that is quite awesome haha. At least I made the text, pretty sure of that.
I just wanted to mention, in case there are other Mac-using fans of Eldpack out there, since you archived the two folders (for 1.5.2 & 1.6.1) as a .RAR archive instead of .zip or something else, there's no default Mac utility that can actually unarchive it. I found one on the Mac App Store without much issue, but just so you know, it's not a native archive format for Macs.
Thanks again for all the updates, guys, and especially Jman for keeping everything together; I tend to swap texture packs depending on what world or server I'm on at the moment, but Eldpack's been my standard since I first started using texture packs at all and you guys are doing a smashing job at keeping it alive.
Alrighty everyone, I'm back at last, and after I get situated back into normal life, I should be able to get back to working on the Eldpack and expanding it, so just another couple days or so and I should be back completely

I never minded the line too much, but I can see why some may not like it, so that will be one of the first things I do is take care of that. And now that you mention it, I do see what you mean about the shades of the blocks, and I'll see if I can fix that as well.

Ahh yes, you certainly did! I remember now, I knew your username looked familiar. Glad to see you found the new thread, and given that you haven't played in a while, I'm assuming you aren't doing much texturing anymore either. If you are though, I would be glad to get more work from you, it was all very good, and the flow of new textures has been slowing down recently. If you don't though, don't sweat it, I just thought I would ask :3

Huh...good thing you mentioned that, I had no idea that caused problems for mac users. I noticed that it was a jar file a while ago, but didn't think anything of it, so I'll definitely fix that as soon as possible. And it's my pleasure really, I'm glad to hear you enjoy it
EDIT: Alright, just uploaded another update, albeit a small one. Switched back to .zip file format, and altered the quartz block pillar to remove the lines.
I am unable to download the folder. Everytime I click on the link I am taken to the dropbox page and recieve a 403 error. I have tried it logged in and logged out of my dropbox account to no avail.

Yep, 1.6.2 didn't add anything that 1.6.1 didn't have, I'll update the title just to avoid confusion though
