Yeah, I also saw the news on Rhodox's that he got busy with life. I figured that was what happened however I am glad to hear there he is okay! I hope one day he'll be able to turn his attention back to Painterly. I am quite fond of Painterly and have been a fan for a long time. Does anyone remember that texturing livestream donation event he did a couple of years back? That was pretty fun.
And Taiga, the customizer is only for vanilla. However, you can download "developer version" of the texture pack and there's a folder full of alternative textures. If you've the patience to sort through them all, you can use them for mods I guess.
Also, the official website is down again. Given the lack of interest from the original creator and the community, is it safe to say support for the pack is now dead?

The website is not down, at least not anymore if it ever was. And considering "it's unlikely I have time to properly devote to Painterly", probably... at least for now, maybe he will pick it up in the future, or someone else will.
With 1.11 around the corner, I've decided to make an unofficial 1.9+ patch for the Painterly pack. I got most things done and will be posting the patch this week. Perhaps in a separate thread.

It'd probably be a good idea to make a new thread, since the official pack seems long gone at this point.

It's back down...just tried on my tablet to access it then on the pc still no go...there was something posted about him being DDOSd that I saw but not sure how old the post was as I can't find it now.
I did, however, manage to download the full manual pack using the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, so I can still edit it manually.
Can you use this to customize mod blocks or is it vanilla only?

if anyone has gotten together a reasonable 1.9 fan patch, I can get that added to the OP.
I'm working on manually putting together my personal pack, but it's going to take forever.
There's going to be even more holes to fill up once 1.10 is released.
is is ok to 1.10.2?
No. The pack hasn't been updated since 1.8.
