What's that mini-map mod you've got? Ever since 1.7, I've been looking for one, since Rei seems to have given up.
Mapwriter has an unofficial version that is updated, but has some issues saving the map. If you're used to a minimap that doesn't save, then no issue. Look on the last few pages of that thread for links to the unofficial 1.7.10 version.

I've put together a little override pack (place it above the John Smith pack in the Resource Pack list in Minecraft) with some alternate diorite, andesite and granite. It's just some textures taken from John Smith alternate packages and the Technician's Remix, with some minor coloring adjustments. Also included are fixes for the sides of pressure plates being black.

Added Stone edits by benloran, decided to make a different one for Diorite and edited the Granite as it had a strange edge shadow, all three stones now have different textures and have been added to the main site download for both packs.
The JSC pack stones are a little different as I just prefer the green, blue and black stones, they are more like the actual stone in real life, I may add some screen shot later.

I noticed that there wasn't a blockstate or models file for the multiple sandstone variants. I tried to make them and this happened. I can't seem to upload the files so ill put their contents in the spoilers
I far as I can see the sandstone variants already have the blockstates and models files, are you sure you are running the latest resource pack?
John Smith Legacy 1.8 v1.3.4, 20th September 2014 - 1.8 was the last release.
I've noticed some texture pack sites hosting older releases, the only place you will find the latest release is on the JSL site, anywhere else and it's probably out of date and may have been changed.
Yeah sorry about that, I'm trying to bring out updates every few weeks and I'm also trying to stick with Friday releases unless there's a huge game changing bug.
Everything seems to be going pretty well at t the moment, I may attempt to do some entities this weekend (bunnies) as I've had a few requests.
Is this the proper place to discuss mod textures or does JSTR have a separate thread? o_O
I did some work for BoP last year (I think?) but I noticed it and some other worldgen mods are still fairly incomplete. If progress on them has been totally abandoned right now I could take a crack at some basic stuff again.
Thought about doing support for Pam's harvestcraft but not sure how to go about it since the only reference for the style is the apple. Has anyone else given it some thought?

If you say "plz" because it's shorter than "Please," I'll say "No" because it's shorter than "Yes."
Horse textures aren't working. Why? I used MCPatcher, still nothing.
What do you mean by not working?
If you mean they look the same as vanilla, then you correct as there are currently no JS textures for Horses, they are planned to be made at some point in the future.
Hey there. I love the texture pack. The colors are easy on my eyes. But uh, the font is lil too fine for me. It gets very sketchy when viewing in-game books such as the Thaumonomicom (Thaumcraft). Same for the Lexica Botania (Botania) and the tinker's books from Tinker's Construct. Oh, almost forgot about the Witchery books. So I thought to myself: "Why not take the font from one texture pack and put it in another?" So I searched Google and saw some ways that didn't quite make sense. One suggested that I take some file called "ascii.png" and swap them out. Thing is, this texture pack doesn't have that kind of file, or at least the version I am currently using, which is the modded version. So I come to you for help. Anyway I can change the font to something more readable for me so I don't have to switch texture packs every time I wanna read a book?

Looking in the JSTR_Universal_1.7.x.zip which I have on file here, which I think is the most recent version of the Technician's Pack, the file you're looking for is in the assets\minecraft\textures\font\ folder of the zip (use 7zip to open the archive). The file is indeed called ascii.png and either delete it from the archive to get the normal, low resolution font back, or replace it with a file from another pack. Personally, I use the one from Faithful 32. The one included in John Smith is very nice and well done, but as you mention, not easy to read in large sections like the books. Our server runs all those mods (except Witchery) and I know how those books look under the included font.
One thing though, you may have spacing issues with any high resolution font depending on what versions of the mods and Minecraft you are running. Adding Optifine to your client-side mods can help with this as it includes and option for font handling.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
The black is far too dark and makes finding dark coloured items a pain.

Point taken, nobody likes the new stone I made, they were more of a stand in until something better comes along and something has...
I build quite a lot with wood but either way they are now changed.

Thanks a lot for this, I really like it!
Hope this gets added to the "final product"
They were added almost on the same day and it's been updated again to fix all the MCPatcher stuff for the latest test version of MCPatcher.
That would be a no I'm afraid.

If Minecraft were real, you'd be a zombie right now.
