Can your 1.11 download just be merged with the official 1.8.1 download, or is there an intermediary update I need as well? It's a bit hard to keep track.
Are you keeping to the original palette with the new textures?
Fair enough, but I don't think he's ever going to respond to be honest. He hasn't been working on this in over a year, so I highly doubt he will come back to it. Personally, if it were me, I would be relieved if someone else continued the pack for me. Steel has about 7 other packs that's he done, and many of them he discontinued. Again, if you give credit where it's due, there will be no copyright issue. Steel doesn't seem to be the type that would get all huffy about it. Just like youtube, if people mention who the song is from, and that you have not made any profit off of it, there is no copyright issue. You do what you want though, and I'll be here waiting regardless c:
Even if people are wary of making a fully updated package, given the way minecraft lets you layer resource packs, couldn't we at least create a single unified update package combining all the contributions of new tiles to be laid over the top of the original dandelion download?

I mean, what's the difference between having one pack including everything and having a pack not updated since about a year along with a pack practically only for fixing this old resourcepack?
Fact is, a standalone resourcepack is much easier to handle.
I did the second option the whole time for my resource pack before the big 2.0 update - because i was gonna use it as an addon - and you cannot believe how much data space I saved by
-Deleting all the block- and item textures which were just copied from vanilla Minecraft and just used up data space
-Cleaning up all the crap which doesn't belong anywhere, including broken mods or mods which also just had copied-over textures
-Cleaning up all the model- and blockstates files which are broken or useless
-Cleaning up all the files to fix the original pack
-> To extend the "you cannot believe how much data space it saved", here are numbers: The original Dandelion pack, only for vanilla and 2 other mods, is 1.63 MB. My pack, including 244 files just for models and randomized blocks and including vanilla and23 other mods, is 1.76 MB. Yes.
It was such a relief to finally having gotten rid of the original pack.
Also, practically, one can use my pack as an updated (and extended) vanilla pack. The extra files, as it's intended for modded, don't even matter. The size is just bigger. Also cool models. Just sayin', hehe.
Wow, look at all you guys! This is great to see, really. I love what everyone is coming up with, and I'm glad that so many people like my artwork and want to continue it.
That said, I have one caveat to add about releasing addon/continuations/expansions: please don't use any sort of money-making program, such as adfly or adfoc. Trying to make money off of something that contains my hard work is a douchey thing to do, so just don't. Otherwise, if you're not making money, if you link back here and credit me, then feel free to have fun.
I've been working on this pack a tiny bit over the past week, mostly just futzing about. I'm waaay out of touch with what the newest minecraft things are, honestly - I still play on 1.7.10.
I may put out an update of some sort, I may not. I really all depends on how busy I am and if my interest holds.
That said, if anyone has made vanilla textures for this pack (like those gorgeous villager textures) could you post a download link somewhere? I want them for myself
I already spazzed. ;////;
I know a lot of people on here who would be willing to help with those textures. I even made a whole list of all the textures that are missing.
Other people have tried to make textures for certain things but it just...doesn't have that certain look to it. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know c:
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I AM
ALKDSGJLAKJ
You don't even need to work on the mods really, just the vanilla I guess.
shrugs
You may also want to contact Arctic Gaming, because they need to make sure you are totally on board with them sharing their pack.
We've talked about it before and they want to make sure that they won't upset you I guess.

Also, do you have a Twitter or anything?
Is Arctic Gaming a server? Or is it a game studio? If the later, I don't think I gave them permission to sell my art commercially. That's not something I would do, especially because I'm not getting paid.
Nope, no twitter account. No random person wants to hear me talk. I'm on the TAU Discord chat, though.
So, since you are interested in some textures, you may want to check out some of my work.
Click here and download my pack (yes, I'm too lazy to put it all together in a separate folder)
Included, what may interest you, is:
-> randomized blocks via blockstates
-> connected bookshelves, glass and vines via optifine (not my work, but from that unofficial Dandelion 4 download from one of those third sites)
-> A magma block texture (not quite the color code, but it is lit up in game, and without the transition to netherrack it wouldn't have looked acceptable)
-> Connected magma blocks, glass and bookshelves when Chisel is installed (because Chisel shuts down Optifine's mcpatcher) (Yes, no connected magma block with optifine. It may come soon? i dont know, i just dont feel like cramping my way through 47 separate textures with my pack being intended to be used with mods and chisel is pretty much in all modpacks)
-> randomized magma blocks (only 2 variants so far) with optifine as the blockstates or chisel way to randomize it don't work with chisel already connecting it
-> A ton of fancy models: A super fancy fence and fence gate model for all wood variants (and even ones from mods); Super fancy rail models for all vanilla rails (and all railcraft rails, if you allow this comment ^^); your original cauldron model; your original enchanting table model; a super fancy model for iron bars; A fancy model for oak and spruce doors. The other doors will still come but for the 2.0 update i basically did nothing other than modelling, so not quite yet.
-> Some more particles (also with spidermas99's help)
-> An oak boat texture for the new boats
-> Spidermas99's textures: Lapis Lazuli, rotten flesh, no, not gonna list them all here, click here to download all the textures he made (and look into minecraft, i've taken pretty much all of those textures)
-> Clear glass (sorry, hehe)
-> The arrows when holding the cursor over the resourcepack select, server select and world select (intentionally from spidermas, I extended it a bit)
I don't blame you when you don't like some of them or even all of them
Oh nononono, it's a user on here who has continued to make your pack in your absence. They would like to share the pack with others but they didn't simply because they didn't know if you would allow them to or not. And no selling of any sort would happen.
Hallo89 has also been working on your pack and has mostly been doing mods. So if anything, you could leave the mods to him. shrugs

If you want to check out all the stuff I've done ingame, I can quickly upload my testing modpack + world (+ texturepack) on curse. super easy to install, if you have the curse client, of course
That was much. I'm sorry if it's not easy to read :/

*I mean to say "ArticFrostGaming" my bad.
Well that's okay then. The 3 standard rules apply. (Credit, link, no money)
So I've started doing a bit of work on this again to bring it up to date. I've also cut out a lot of the old junk that's been cluttering up the zip file for a while. Just FYI, I don't have anything exciting to post screenshots of yet.
That's totally fine Steel, you take your time.
I just want to say, I appreciate everything you're doing. And I'm terribly sorry if I came off as pushy or annoying.
I don't want to come off that way.
I believe I saw someone comment that they had fixed the custom models for the cauldron and enchanting table.
Can someone post the corrected versions please? I'm not a whiz at this, and I don't know how to correct them.
And for anyone who wants to see what I'm up to, here are beetroots, bone blocks, the new nether blocks, and a sampling of concrete.
How do you all think I should handle the new decorative porcelain blocks? Keep the vanilla patterns but with dandelion colors? Or try to come up with new patterns?

Gotcha. Didn't know if it was a guy or a girl, but hey. Lot's of people think I'm male LOL.
