Sparkfire is a texture pack I've been working a long time on as a community pack for a minecraft server, but only recently released.
Best way I can describe it is quasi-faithful. The pack has a distinct style and takes liberties with some of the textures and looks, but is still very thematically close to default, and most popular texture packs.
Last thing I'd want is highly specialized and nonsensical textures for an SMP texture pack, and have everything look awful as soon as you go to change packs.
Right now nearly everything is done except most of the mobs, which have been left out since they are not done! I more than encourage you to edit mobs from any of your personal favorite packs into the prelim release, but for obvious reasons I cannot do this for you.
Downloads and some screenshots follow! If anyone has a computer capable of running shaders or at least taking high quality screenshots, and would be interested in taking a few more demo images let me know! I can ALWAYS use more shots of my pack in use!
Also if anyone would be potentially interested in producing anything besides screenshots, like videos or banner graphics, don't hesitate to bring it up!
Send in your own screens so I have more to show off!
Set #1
Update V1.1!
New skeletons, flowing lava, and glowstone!
Summary Pic(s):
Changelog:
Missing Hardcore health display and missing poisoned hearts fixed.
Font edited to make the lowercase g distinct from the 9.
Skeleton mob texture finished and added in.
-Randommob support for skeletons implemented, variation between bleached and unbleached bones.
New flowing lava animation, a matching edit in the still lava soon to come.
New natural glowstone texture, looks appropriate in the nether, and is a closer stylistic analogue for default.
Netherrack and soul sand brightened a bit.
Pumpkin mask shifted to correctly align with the first person focus.
Currently trying to get as many of the mods done as I can each update, though I am talking to a few sources about maybe getting you all some placeholders until I finish my own textures!

You may record and post videos of this pack in use, as long as credit is given and this thread is linked to.
In game screenshots may be spread without explicit credit, but credit must not be taken for the art in this pack.
You are free to edit the pack for personal use, but at this time are not permitted to use any of the content in a released texture pack or other wise include these textures with your work or the work of others besides me and those specifically credited for contributions to this pack.
Alternates are welcomed, but must be posted in this thread and this thread only.
ActionMovieEd for helping with armors and items.
Reddit /r/minecraft community for the starter skin I used to make the different villagers.
Sir you have copied a texture the cobble is from Partybrothers Perspective pack please make different
I can absolutely guarantee I did no such thing, the cobble was originally inspired by one of Glimmar's old cobble alternates, which was used for a color sample.
The texture was original then and after many many unreleased versions of this pack is indistinguishable from its inspiration.
The download on the Partybrothers thread is down for me, but from the screenshots the two do not look similar from what I can tell.
Heres a shot from a long time ago when I was testing textures with some doku and glimmar filler.
Very good texture pack !
Just one thing, it appears that there are no special letters with accents you know, in the font file I suppose... I'm french so I write things in french on the signs and all letters with accent disapeared.
That's not a big deal though.

I'm not sure whats missing, is anyone more familiar with the language specific letters?
If I knew where and what I could easily make something up for you, but I'm clueless!
Both of the lava textures. What I meant was the lava is just plain orange and it would look better if you added some more detail (Such as light and dark patches or molten rocks)
As you can see in this picture the default lava has light and dark patches which gives it detail.
Yeah I get you, I can bump that up with some contrast and noise layers, no huge difficulty.
The flowing lava will be a distinct texture from the still though, so ill just keep this in mind when I go to make it.
If you can take a peak at the enderdragon, its a very close analogue edit of the default dragon for 32x resolution and is probably a fair measure of my mob texturing style. Especially the wings which I made separate.
Though I made it a while ago, so probably better quality and more original.
That's really nice
My only suggestion is that maybe the texture needs to be a bit brighter so it looks like it's glowing.
Edit: I also think the netherack should also be a bit brighter, or at least make an alternative that is brighter.
(P.S. Are you thinking of uploading this pack to minecraftcustomizer.net when it is completed?)
This texture pack looks amazing! Awesome work, really nice, new pack so well done on this I hope this pack gets really popular for you, you deserve it.
I have to agree with Shorthouse though, the glowstone doesn't look bright enough, while the texture for it looks really nice, it just doesn't look glowing.
You guys are way too nice.
Anyways just posting the glowstone as a draft definitely not happy with the shading yet, I might even try a different design.
I'm trying to get a similar effect to my old patterned glowstone(which really looked like it was glowing without being insanely bright), but for some reason I cant get that color scheme to work here.
I'll try to post more dev shots as I work on things!
Also, I installed the shaders mod and got you some pictures
If you want any more just ask (If you want me to take pictures on a specific seed / map that's ok too)
Wow thanks for these!, I'm throwing the majority up as demo shots as soon as I can.
Do you think you could get some shots of some larger builds to show how a larger server project might look?I really don't have any quality shots of most of the textures apart from terrain generation shots.
Really just anything with builds in it!
And as far as minecraftcustomizer goes I think I will hold off for now, I just don't have enough good looking alternates to justify it yet.
Very, very nice looking pack, LimitForce. Downloading immediately to have a little play and change of scenery.
My attention is always drawn to packs that don't follow the endless round of medieval fantasy (nothing wrong with that theme of course), but good when people think out of the box and show how Minecraft can be extended into new areas, so well done for doing something different.
I wish you every success, mate...and now to play. I'll pop in again and let you know what I think...if that's ok with you?

By the way, love the avatar!
Wow, probably shouldn't say this, but I basically started texturing doing a remix with a surprising (and maybe even disturbing) amount of your textures in it!
You're practically the reason I started this one almost a year ago (progress was slow then). I would be delighted if you would give me your honest opinion of what I have so far.
And the avatar is from one of my favorite webcomics. I have the same character in about 20 different positions this being my favorite.

Glad to get a good initial reception, I'll admit I wasn't quite sure how you guys would take to it.

I've fixed the error but do not have a new version coming out for a short while.
In the meantime if you need the updated health display you can use this.

Thanks that's very kind.
And thanks again for the feedback!
The still lava or the flowing?
I plan on adding a layered animation for flowing, but I might add some contrast and noise to the still lava if its too smooth.

Count on it!
And I'll do my best.
Ive heard this enough times I've started working on a new glowstone texture, and so far so good!
Let me know what you guys think.

Kinda felt the last shot was too out of context for glowstone so could I get a second opinion from these shots?
I'm thinking a little white shine on some or all of the individual facets and it might be good to go.
Actually how about this map?
