The method I use for creating lists of missing textures is fairly simple. You need Notepad++, and a compare plugin for it, though. You only need to download Notepad++ manually, then use its plugin manager (Menu Bar > Plugins > Plugin Manager > Show plugin Manager) to checkmark and install the "compare" plugin.
The below instructions assume that you are using a Windows operating system.
Once you have that installed, you'll need to actually create a list of resources. Manually, this is hard/tedious, but on windows, you can use command prompt to create a quick list of things in a directory, or in current and all subdirectories. If you do have windows, you can open a command prompt in your current directory by holding shift and right-clicking in a blank space somewhere inside the folder, and choosing "Open command window here". Otherwise, you'll need to learn how to navigate folders using cmd, which is actually fairly easy info to look up.
Below is a small list of file list-making commands (the bold text).
dir/b>list.txt - Creates a list of files in the current directory (also lists the created list.txt in the file, which is annoying) dir/b|clip - Writes a list of the current directory to your clipboard for pasting. dir/s/b>list.txt - Creates a list of files in the current and all subdirectories (However, each file listed uses full path. You can find and replace the part of the path you do not need with nothing in Notepad++ easily though) dir/s/b|clip - Writes a list of all files in current directory and all subdirectories to the clipboard.
I use the third command, personally. Open the resulting file in Notepad++, and select the part of the path I don't need on any line (example: C:/Users/ZeroLevels/Last Days/textures) and press the shortcut key ctrl+h to add that part to the "Find what" box in the Replace interface. From there, make sure the "Replace with" box is completely blank, and the "Search Mode" is set to normal. Then click replace all. This will leave only the filepaths starting from texture (example: textures/entity/chest/normal.png). After this, I remove all lines that are folders. With the Replace interface still up (reopen it if necessary), change from the Replace tab to the "Mark" tab. Search for .mcmeta|.png and change the Search Mode to Regular Expression (leave the checkbox to the right of it unchecked). Also make sure the "Bookmark Line" box is checked. Press search, and this should find anything that contains both or only one .png or .mcmeta. From there, go up to the menu bar > Search > Bookmark > Remove Unmarked Lines. Any line that didn't contain the search string will have been removed. In the Mark interface, you can now click the "Clear all marks" button to unmark everything. Then save the file.
You'll need to re-do all of the above steps once more to get a text file to compare to. Assuming the first file you created was all the current LAST Days textures, you need to get a copy of all of the vanilla textures into some separate folder somewhere. The vanilla textures can be found in the 1.8.3.jar. Extract the assets folder somewhere, go into it, and then into the minecraft folder, and lastly into the textures folder, and run all of the above steps once more to get a list of all vanilla texture files without folders.
Once you have the two files to comapare, make sure they're both open in notepad++ (they use tabs much like web browsers). Go up to the menu bar > Plugins > Compare > Compare. This will open a side-by-side view of the files, and any missing or added lines should be listed. This may take a little time to learn how to read, but it's fairly straightforward after a few minutes of comparing them to the actual files and folders. With this, you'll be able to see what textures are currently missing from the LAST DAYS pack.
It's less intimidating than it looks. Just make sure you type you commands correctly when using the command prompt, and make sure the command prompt is set to the correct directory (It should tell you which directory you're in just before where your typed stuff shows up). These instructions are for Windows only, and I have no idea how to do them on any other OS.
Just figured I'd share my method of listing what's missing with you all since I won't be around too much to help with Last Days. I hope some of you find it useful.
Would I be allowed to use this amazing resource pack in a map that I'm currently working on? (Still on heavy development) but the thing is could I change the sounds of the "Records" for the map? I will include a link to your page if you want & could add credits to you if you like? It really does fit theme of the map I'm working on, & I would be very happy if you would let me.... (I literally made this profile to ask you) .

There are no record sounds in the main pack. (Which pack are you referring too? LastDays Textures, LastDays music pack, Digital_Nightmare.)
in any case you can always make a pack(including any changes you want to make) and have a link to the page of the pack you want to use, and have the user place your pack on top of the original (in the resource pack option under the options menu). that would make any changes you have made show up in the main pack.
Also send us a link when your finished and we will add it to the op.

I know there are no records sounds (I made my own & implemented them, for personal use not distributing) & the pack I'm referring to is the LastDays Textures... (Also what link do you want me to send?) Also I should mention that I went as Far as to adding a Language pack. (I changed the in game items names).

i am sorry, i don't have the power to say whether or not you can use the pack. i was just letting you know a way you can do it without having to get Derick's permission. but as for the Digital_Nightmare music pack you can have a link to the packs page when i finish it."-only if you have an interest in it."
(Also what link do you want me to send?) a link to any projects/videos using LastDays would be nice to add to the front page.

Alright well thanks anyway so then who do I ask to use the pack?
Hey guys, so as most of you know, the texturepack customizer was taken down AGES ago. I don't know if any of you have done some looking around, but http://www.texturepacker.net/ seems like an option if we want a new customizer. It has a starter pack function so theoretically we could have all the textures hosted there and have alternate textures as well. Just an idea.

Goodness. Welcome back, Doku. Just dropping by, or do you have plans? Either case, good to see that you're still around.

Maybe you could try out another resource pack custumizer: The painterly pack. It's one of the best costumizers out there. Try it here: http://painterlypack.net/customizer.php

some of us have school.
Banner base texture I made.
It's (supposed to be) an old road sign that was painted white and hung from a stand made out of sticks.
Ill give this one a try, on the list tho its is the banner base item and overlay item.
it could use some darkening.
Here is the comparison. i left you the the old banner_bace down below.
The Posters/paintings should look minecraft-esque.
That means, no rounded faces.
And why is the music non-existent.
I'm back
the music is a 100 mb, and the cut off for server packs are 49 mb.
you can find the music add on on this page. http://zerolevels.github.io/LAST_DAYS/1.8/index.html
you can also try out the Digital_Nightmare music pack here. http://www.mediafire.com/download/utrrwbqvt114zyh/Digital_Nightmare_By_NeptuneUK_0.9.zip
Yeah mon.

I'll check it out.
I'll contribute with concept art for future endeavors. I have crappy line-to pixel work.
