This Texture Pack is not mine originally. I added some new things to it. All original textures are from donoteat. This post is mainly from the ModernCraft topic (Original topic here). This pack also uses textures from Better Villager Skins by Goodlyay (Topic here: http://www.minecraft...villager-skins/). There's an amazing map called Facility by lolmastergeneral that is amazing and uses ModernCraft! Go check it out: http://www.minecraft...lity-v40600-dl/! Thanks to Cannonmaster for the Enderman texture! This Texture Pack also takes advantage of the mod Randomobs. Currently there is only one addition, and that is a soldier turned zombie. More will come in the future!
2/14/13 - The final download link has been posted. Moderncraft is being discontinued. Thank you to all of my 80,000 supporters! You all mean the world to me. Thank you for sharing this pack to help it gain traction from start to finish.
Fantasy is boring. It's all about a hero killing dragons or rescuing princesses. And in the end, the hero gets a big reward from some autocratic ruler, and spends the rest of his life banging said princess.
Certainly in the past these may have been difficult tasks, but today the nobility is all but abolished, and while the bad guy's magical armor may be said to able to withstand a blow from any weapon known to man, the fact is that when the mystical warlock wrought the armor from steel and fairy dust, man didn't know about C4. Boom. Dead.
It is with this in mind that I present:
Moderncraft is for people who can't take the fantasy aspect of Minecraft. It replaces many of the fantastical elements of Minecraft and replaces them with normal things that exist today. Other, more timeless things, like brick and stone, remain roughly the same.
Let's take a look:
Cobblestone? What is this, 18th century England? Who uses cobblestone for serious purposes anymore? Cobblestone has been changed to Cinderblock.
Redstone? What, you mean like rubies? Rubies don't carry a current, man. Redstone has been changed to Copper. Copper wires carry electricity. It's that simple, really.
Netherrack? What does that even mean? No one knows. Netherrack is now some kind of Red Marble. It looks nice as trim, I think.
Soul Sand: what the hell does that even mean anyway? Why do souls slow me down? Is it their spiritual baggage or something? The weight of my sins? I don't follow it. Soul Sand is now Cautionblock. Cautionblock makes you more cautious, so you slow down.
Glowstone? What kind of stone glows? It's like something out of that film about the naked blue people. Honestly. Glowstone has been changed to Fluorescents.
Wooden Ladders? And I suppose you want me to cross one of those rope-and-plank bridges that could be brought down by an overweight bumble bee, too? Wooden Ladders have been replaced by Steel Ladders.
Torches? What am I, a caveman? Ordinarily I'd suggest the more practical fluorescents, but if you need lighting in a pinch, here are Lightbulbs on Poles:
Wooden Doors? How am I supposed to find out what's outside if there's wood in my face? Wooden Doors are now Glass Doors.
Minecart Tracks? With wooden ties? This is 2012, man. You can't build with wooden ties now. Minecart track ties are now made of concrete.
Bonus: Good looking diagonals now possible.
Chests? Who still has big hulking chests lying around? They're expensive and difficult to transport. Why not just swipe some big old unused cardboard boxes from a southbound freight and dump things in them instead?
Reviews:
Mai Review: It is what it says, an updated version from the original ModernCraft, with the original textures (and new mob sexiness)! Can't really say much more, other then spice things up a bit. Try to add more of your own original textures to the new blocks/items (that has Modern elements and goes well with, of course, ModernCraft). Also, try to change the stone and cobblestone textures, since they are basically the same as stone bricks. d: Overall, great texture pack! If you spice things up a bit more, I will definitely increase my rating:
8.5 / 10
In conclusion: If you are craving a texture pack with a modern feel/environment, go with this one. You won't be disappointed!

It appears to seem legitimate. I'll be sure to check it out, and it's nice to see that someone has decided to continue on the Modern saga! I'll also post my review on this texture after spending some time with it. I hope to not be disappointed!
personaly, i would not use it, but thats just me. i don't want to change the look on minecraft. however, i would certainly commend you on your good work. this is a nice pack and better than most other ones.
BTW, LOLOLOLOL for the zombie lawyers! :laugh.gif:
EDIT- i just thought of something. make creepers into sucide bombers.

LOL that's a great idea for creeper suicide bombers. Also, most of the Textures aren't from me. I just updated the entire thing to 1.1 and added some stuff. But, I will be adding more.

This is my favourite TP of all, I use the ladders and doors and glass and stuff. Hopefully the crafting bench is modern enough to match IC2 :smile.gif:
Everyone, here's my personal terrain.png that has some improved(?) textures from Moderncraft, like the lightbulbs that match redstone torches for example. I also changed the iron door texture and tried to improve on the glass texture. The iron bars are much better, the trapdoors are too.
I've also added a few textures from other random packs. The crafting bench is kinda lame lol, I want a more modern one. I use mostly vanilla blocks though, so just mix n match with paint.net to make a better TP :smile.gif:
And if you use this particles.png, there is no more smoke and flames on lightbulbs.
If anyone improves upon this pack please post it, especially if you make a better looking crafting bench :wink.gif:
P.S. Hope OP isn't annoyed I posted a terrain.png in his thread :S
