I've been searching for ages for a good 16x texture pack and registered to say your work, my friend, is it. Absolutely wonderful artwork you've been doing. Please keep it up and add your magic touch to as much as you can!
I also have a few humble suggestions for you:
-You can add some color to the tips of the netherwart (red, perhaps) to show they're ripe.
-Of course, my personal preference, but adding a splash of brown or yellow to the biome colors really help diversify the land.
-A sign that has a white or cream paper background really helps to see text.
Keep up the amazing work!
Hey, a first timer! Thanks for going the extra mile to comment, my friend. :3
-That's a good idea. I'll try it out and see how it looks.
-Ah, the biome coloration. I spent about a week in hell trying to make it look right. Yes, the changes are rather subtle, but if you happen to find a forest biome next to a tundra biome you will see that the tundra is much browner and more wintry. The same goes for the desert biome, which I tried to make yellowish. You're right, it could probably do with some more variation, but the problem is that if I make the individual biome colors too intense it starts to look strange (and the borders look awkward, too). But I'll see if I can't whip up some sort of Autumn-ish coloration for you, to give everything more variety. :smile.gif:
-Coming right up!
An alt sign would be great, really loving using this pack - it almost feels default it fits in with MC so seamlessly. I really love the GUI, except the xp bar which feels a bit light (I've made a personal edit for myself, if thats OK).
Really awesome stuff, Steel. :smile.gif:
Yeah, I figured some people wouldn't like the white exp bar. But you know me-- I always have to do something different.

Haha I know exactly how you feel. I mess around with them as well. The old biomes worked wonderfully with changes in color... much more subtle. With the new biome layout it's much more drastic and difficult to tweak, but still, I love seeing some autumn colors sprinkled in from time to time.
P.S. I love the white EXP bar. It's classy as hell :wink.gif:
Well, I think it was the furnace for example, the entire hud was the same colour instead of having a square for the coal so instead of dropping coal or a item into the box, I was dropping it around the area where I would look for a box waiting for a colour change instead of visually seeing a box. Just didn't look right but that's your choice.
And for the colour blends, a grey or light colour is going to be much more visible for most textures or even a darker colour but having the background as another texture, such as wood, makes it harder to see even more. Sure there's always going to be problems but it makes it worse. Plus I don't understand why everything's made of wood for the hud anyway, I can understand a sort of royal brown but is this pack tree related or something?
Besides, if you're making the texture pack you can make it so colours don't blend and confuse themselves. If you made a white background for example, you could change wool to be more vivid around the edges or whatever pattern design as your choice.
I'm confused. I haven't done the furnace GUI yet. So I think your complaint my lie with the default screen (not that I've noticed the box for coal disappearing...).
After your previous comment I realized that it was a bit difficult to see all the items for the allitems screen, so I've been working on darkening up the background to make the items stand out more. Hopefully that will help you. :smile.gif:
As for your last paragraph...I really have no idea what you're talking about. Do you not like the wools?
chill out. for me some stuff does look familiar to wayukis, not saying its bad or smh, it just gives me simillar atmosphere ig...
While yes, some textures might bear some resemblance to textures found in Wayukian-- like the furnace, for example, but I can name at least 5 other packs that use a similar style for the furnace-- there are many fundamental differences that give my pack a completely different atmosphere than Wayukian.
To begin with, Wayuki adjusted her color palette so that the shadows would lean more towards the blue end of the spectrum and the highlights would lean towards red. This creates a very distinct in-game feel. FeatherSong, on the other hand, has a more monochromatic color palette, with very little hue shifting between the highlights and shadows. And where there is hue shifting, I tended to lean towards red for the shadows, rather than blue. Again, this creates a very different atmosphere.
Secondly, our packs were created using very different techniques. Wayuki used a lot of brushes (and/or very carefully applied pixel art) to smooth out the textures and make the surface feel more liquid, whereas I opted to leave the textures a little rougher and more pebbly. This difference can be seen in the stone, dirt, and wools especially.
And finally, most of the designs of the textures are very different. My planks look nothing like Wayuki's planks, for example. The glass, chest, glowstone, piston, dirt, bricks, TNT, mushrooms, dispenser, stone bricks, wood door, iron door, hatch, iron bars, torch, rails, ores, gold/lapiz/iron/diamond block, redstone torch, redstone repeater, soulsand, nether brick, cobble, pumpkin, melon, bed, redstone, cake, cauldron, end stone, brewing stand, vines, wools, netherwort, ice, leaves, long grass, oak/pine/birch logs, and enchanting table also look nothing like Wayuki's.
In conclusion: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Thank you! It's nice to hear that I've converted at least one poor, lost soul away from default. :tongue.gif:

This is so beautiful! I love the gui <3
Now to wait for items :sad.gif:
Can't wait to see what's in store :smile.gif:
P.S. Sorry to hear about your pet(s). I don't think I could live without my best friend.

Uh...well I only have 3 items done so far, and they share an uncanny resemblance to **** at the moment, so...not today. :smile.gif:
Ah, and what I lovely sound it is. :3
Already planned. :smile.gif:
You guys are going to LOVE this adventure map, btw. I'm having way too much fun with building redstone contraptions.... MUWAHAHAHA
I just played Wintertide and it was pretty awesome. Have you played it?
(Spoiler for map spoilers)
I might have been inspired by Wintertide, yes.... :wink.gif:
If I say you can borrow whatever items of mine you think look particularly tasty, you would say...?
I'd say you're an item pimp. :3
Thanks!
I almost rage quit internet when I read that. Feathersong does not resemble Wayuki.

Items, unless I change my mind. :smile.gif:
