We're becoming more... "smudgy" than "grainy"? I guess that's roughly what I'm referring to. Both look great, but are not the same. It might jsut be me about this, and perhaps I'm over-worrying. But it was a though that's been in my mind here and there.

Must be very difficult to make something new without just modifying old textures (what I probably would do!)
I really hope they add some more new blocks to 1.9, I like the End bricks but I doubt I'll find a use for purpur. The chorus plants are kinda cool though.
What were the GUI changes, just for the shield/off-hand slot?

It isn't just your textures, even mine are starting to stray a bit (like the chorus plant and purpur blocks that I posted earlier; part of why I"m not happy with them). The ender eye (and earlier the ender pearl) that you posted looks great, it's got that shine to it to make it look smooth and wet. However, it looks a bit too smooth, and while more realistic, it's less "grain". Ovo's pack isn't a realistic pack, as much as we feel we're a part of the Minecraft world when playing in Ovo's textures.
Other ones that made the thought of "smudgy" pop into my head over time have been:
Sunflower
Daisy
Tulips
raw / cooked chicken
Most dyes
rabbit foot
Snowball
slimeball
spawn egg
Other textures that seem more plastic than grain:
Quartz blocks (all)
Carved red sandstone (mostly just the carving itself)
Gold nugget
Also, the potatoes (raw, cooked and poisonous) and carrots (raw and golden) have edging that's hazy, causing the objects edge to be partially transparent when held. I fixed them on my own computer but I notice it hasn't been done here yet. I can post them, if you like.
We're all trying hard, and mostly with whatever in the pack piques our creativity. So I know that sometimes what we want to do doesn't always translate well into pixels, let alone the pack itself.

Edit:
Also, I did some textures for the carrot growth stages, so they're distinguishable from the potato growth stages. They match the green of the final carrot stage, so are a bit more saturated because of it.
So I noticed a while back that the cauldron needed some love. I finally got around to messing around with it hope you guys like it.
Also, I don't know if many of you have noticed this or maybe it's just me, but the single chests graphic glitches out in the front when you move your mouse. I fixed this as well as added the hinges from the double chests to the single ones and also added an outward appearance difference for trapped chests.
i want to drama because i was trying really hard to push that update. At some point i even thought 'ah screw that, no one cares about ORR', but then i thought 'no. there is still users that using it', and actually on a wave of such motivation finished it, and then 'eh update', i mean it's not about points but feedback.
The update is good, it encourages new people to use it (I think most of us older users have our own compilations that we use normally) but I did test it and just had no criticism because it all looked good to me. Don't be discouraged!

Schlutt's right, Apachey. Even when I'm critiquing it isn't because I hate your work, or that I'm upset you're still working. None of the sort! We all know you do excellent work! I admit, I have a bad habit of lurking myself, only because I feel if I'm NOT supplying some sort of new piece to the pack that I clearly must be slacking. ._.() So I admit, I usually just hide.

I will certainly have to check that out! (Currently on lunch break)
I've noticed the netherrack, sand and sometimes stone will bother me, but mostly netherrack and sand. I haven't yet checked with soulsand, but probably should be something to peek at.

why? There is always a little bit of grain, i'm trying to make it noticeable, but not too much...
Usually when I think of the "natural grain" in Ovo's work I think of colored pencil drawings.
Example:

But some of the stuff we've been doing reminds me more of pastel drawings:

The artists at work! It's an interesting process.

Gosh, i expected much more appreciation, looks like i did bad work? Tell me please why you don't like it, feedback is very important, you know.
Schlutt, in inventory GUI i had to 'rebuild' that background, actually i did a lot of work, it's just not noticeable...

There's also that one mystery pixel on the cane item which has been there forever, so it's just funny now.
Just make whatever you like! Post anything, creative discussion is good but I save pretty much every texture posted here anyways.
One day we should each post out own personal versions

nice. Little texture fixes has more likes that actual update. I'm out.
Oh Apachey don't be so drama! It's just internet points.
Just encouraging someone new, so you don't have to do all the work

Here's an addon for the main pack: http://www.mediafire.com/download/bicbqs7t14podr1/Ovos_RR_shader_files.zip
I also have the files for CTM too, if you want them.

That and the 1.6.2 version of ORR, but I recommend what Schlutt said.

Just making a note of 1.9 textures which will be needed (depending on final snapshots) -
- Zombie villagers!
- Skeleton horse (+zombie horse, they are also used with some plugins)
- "Shulker" mobWho made this!- Boats (I checked and they do not borrow the pack's plank texture anymore)
- Elytra + item
- Shield + item
- Frost block (3 stages)
- Brewing stand GUI edit for blaze powder slot
- status effects (levitation, glowing, luck, bad luck)
- some particle effects? (sweepAttack, dragonBreath, endRod, damageIndicator)
- End gateway? (not sure if it's the same texture as End portal)
- End gateway beam?
- Tipped arrows- Lingering potion bottle- Attack damage indicator/iconIt would be awesome to get some damaged tool models too, Kapouette still around?
