This texture pack is based on the 1995 video game Chrono Trigger. The setting for this one is a bleak and dismal future, thus the color palette is dull with browns and dark tones prevalent.
The terrain, GUI, items and most everything is changed to reflect the style of the video game it is based on. Full credits and permissions are in the readme inculded in the download. If you like this texture pack you may enjoy the "Chrono Trigger 1000 A.D." that I've also released, or possibly some of my other texture packs.

I'm not sure here, but since I haven't gotten a download yet, at this point, you must be judging from the screenshot alone. I would also speculate that you may be confusing dirt for what is actually wool. This is the standard world save used to display texture packs and it isn't dirt all over the ground there it's wool. If the wool texture isn't the best, that's fine, it's supposed to look dirty and dark. But thank you for at least looking at the texture pack, even if it is just the screenshots.
You are my new favorite texture pack maker. I like this one! and the 1000 A.D. Texture Pack :biggrin.gif:
This does look like 2300 A.D. from the game =)
I just have to thank you for this comment, my heart really goes into making my texture packs. I try to give them enough uniqueness that they are worth having as a texture pack. This one has received a bit of harsh criticism and that I do understand, it is gritty and not the prettiest to look at. But when I made this one, I was taking over the project from Jedi Jennifer, I tried to incorporate my own work from the 1000 A.D. pack and make it all come together to represent a specific part of the Chrono Trigger game. So thank you very much for downloading and for liking this texture pack.
Great texture pack. I did download it so far it is great. I can't play Minecraft without it but I want to see you texture the mobs because when a sheep drops its wool it looks wierd. also can you texture shears too.
The raw wood texture has been changed as of my most recent update. Also, the white wool has been given a texture more appropriate coming from a white sheep. I made shears specifically because you asked for them, I think they turned out quite nice. Thanks for your interest in this texture pack. Thank you to everyone who downloads this pack. At the time of me writing this, nearly 800 downloads since the update!
I like what you said about making textures that are unique enough to have a reason to use. I find that most textures don't interest me because they just change wood to wood and dirt to dirt so I look for very unique ones. Also I am a huge fan of chrono trigger so thanks for making the chrono trigger textures.
((I can't find the 1000 AD pack could you post a link))

Anything expressed above is purely my opinion, it may be right in some cases, it may be wrong in others.

Thanks for liking the game that inspired this texture pack. :laugh.gif: It's always great to know that fans of the game find this here. As far as the portal goes, if I figure out how to change it I will. As of right now, I don't exactly know how to do it.
Anyways, updated the texture pack to Beta 1.9 pre-release v2.
Yet another big update for all of my texture packs. Compatible with Beta 1.9 pre-release v4, and added textures for Industrial Craft, Build Craft, and Red Power2.
EDIT: For anyone who uses the BuildCraft mod by Spacetoad along with this texture pack, it may be worth re-downloading the version 3 which I recently uploaded here. I have adjusted the oil and fuel buckets to match the darker look of the other buckets in this texture pack.
I made an account literally just to tell you this:
This is the GREATEST texture pack I have ever found
The dark, ominous feeling just adds a new level to my minecraft worlds and I truly enjoy the pictures, being able to put my favorite characters portraits around my buildings just gives me a warm feeling
I cannot thank you enough for doing such a fantastic job, I can't even use other texture packs anymore because it just doesn't look as truly amazing as this one
Thank you, truly, thank you

Thank you so much, I just did a big update for the Beta 1.9 pre-release v3, and its also now compatible with Better Than Wolves mod.

Just updated to version 3.25, now compatible with the mod "Connected Textures", as shown in this image.
