I Couldnt Figure Out How To Add Texture Packs, So I Just Replaced The Default.
Its Been A While And Now I Want The Default Again, Is It Released Somewhere Or Will I Need To Wait For 1.8?
Delete the whole Bin folder, if you installed the texture pack the old fashioned way. That should restore it the next time you go on.
But, instead of replacing the Minecraft.jar with the new texture, simply place the raw files (straight from download usually) inside the texture packs folder, and you can choose it whenever you want to.
Did anyone get around this problem? I'm stuck with the Halo texture as I accidentally replaced the default a while back. I'm on a Mac. Unpatch on mcpatcher doesn't work, force update in options doesn't work, trashing the bin doesn't work, I always get the Halo texture every time I open minecraft.
Would really like to know if someone has the solution. Thanks!
Absolutely nothing works?
I'm not sure where to locate the .minecraft folder on a mac, but if you know where it is then just delete the whole thing and re-download minecraft fresh. If you placed it in your minecraft.jar file, then force updating should fix it. If it doesn't then I don't know what kind of black magic your computer is possessed with.

Before texture packs was supported you had to manually replace the default texture with the new one, which this guy did.
