(It doesn't end in -craft!)
I'm a long-time Minecraft player (May '09), and an old Photoshop user. One day I thought to myself, "Why not put the two together?" So I did. And this is the result. I find it satisfactory, but there's always room for improvement (especially the textures I didn't change). Currently I only have released a terrain file, but I will continually add more to the pack.
Screenshots (mostly same as video):
All blocks
Generic terrain
Ores (and minecart tracks)
Nice little house
Small garden
Inside the house
Basement
Redstone and pistons
Dungeon
Nether
Wool
Hearts/Air
The textures I haven't changed are:
Birch logs
Pine logs
Leaves (all 4 kinds)
The weird thing next to the dead thing that
Cobwebs
Living shrub/tallgrass thing (I've never seen it in-game; didn't bother)
Legal jargon is fun!

Changelog:
v1.2 - New sidegrass, workbench sides. Cake item now 100% more chocolatey! Minor GUI tweaks and fixes.
v1.1 - New chest texture, alternates included as separate file.
v1.0 - initial release
Updated to v1.1! This version includes better chests, alternate textures, and GUI changes!
Alternate textures were made for the 3-hour texture contest.
Quite nice for your first(?) texture pack, overall it's nice but it could need some changes too.
Maybe some shadowing on the side grass and some work on the workbench cloth thing. :smile.gif:
Plain, square cloth is boring, so I felt like changing things up. It is somewhat weird and ugly, though. I'll try the shadowing, too.
After a short delay, due to a pathetic internet connection and being away, Nabobery! v1.2 has been released!
The update includes new sidegrass; new workbench side textures; cake item fixed to be properly chocolatey; menu buttons fixed to tile properly when cropped (for smaller buttons); Minor GUI tweaks.
