Could you explain to me how you made a direct link to a google drive file? I can't figure it out. When I copy/paste the link to people it takes them inside of the zip where they have to File/Download.
Could you explain to me how you made a direct link to a google drive file? I can't figure it out. When I copy/paste the link to people it takes them inside of the zip where they have to File/Download.
Well, it's a bit of a trick, really.
Make the download available to anyone with a link, copy the url, and there will be a part of it that's important.
Change the section that is:
open?id=
to:
uc?id=
And the link will now be a direct download.
If you use Goo.gl for tracking, and use the Google Drive program for ease of updating
now you've got a better host that's easier on you and users compared to mediafire.
Now that I've told you that, what do you think of the pack?
If you like it, what do you like, and what do you want to see next?
If you don't like it, what don't you like, and what could I do to make you use the pack?

Hello, I really like the textures for this texture pack but, when I try downloading it, it doesn't work for me, does the link or something not work anymore?

Unless (unlikely) a Google server is down somewhere, or (possibly) it is because it is an error relating to Google accounts.
Earlier in the year I was told by someone that they couldn't download without logging into their Google account, but, it isn't set to do this, and I haven't been able to replicate this error.
If it helps, this file is a direct download. It isn't like medifire where it brings you to a download page; the link will bring up a download prompt or start the download based on your browser's preferences. If you don't have the best internet, choosing "save link as" or "save target as" from the right click menu might be a quicker option. You could also try opening in a new tab/window. I'm not sure which is faster, or if that is the true issue.
If it doesn't work, what does it do? Nothing/error/404/couldnotconnect/ect.?
I am assuming for now nothing, which is why I offered the above advice, thinking maybe you were expecting a download page.

Thanks for the tip, sorry I barged in asking a question that had nothing to do with your pack.
To make up for it, I downloaded your pack and had a gander.
First off, I think the UI could use work. It feels too sharp with the rounded edges but honestly its probably limitations of the resolution so don't worry about that too much. I liked the wild grass, dirt, and wooden planks a lot. The netherrack and cobble were great too. And those iron/gold blocks...wow, great shading there. The tools are okay, but the wooden ones look a bit like they are made of clay. I liked the iron sword but not the gold, in all honesty it looks like a fat banana. I realize you were trying to get different looks for the swords but there is probably something better that you can model it after.
Mostly just default textures, but the flower pot and command block (from the previous snapshot, beacon block, too) are new textures!
I will redo more of the default textures (especially item icons) later.
Oh, and new drip particles, and wood and gold sword!

When I made the gold sword, and saw a pigman holding it, I thought it looked like a banana, too. I thought "it's a crap sword, nobody will care"
I redid them now though, and you're right, I made it look like a little dagger as well, and yes, I'm trying to make good tools look awesome, and bad tools look chinsey. Little daggers work, too, as it makes them look small and powerless compared to a full sword, while still looking good.
Also, I'm not entirely sure why you say the wooden tools look like clay, but I redid the wooden sword like the gold one. The wooden tools are supposed to look like they are solid wood, and the wooden sword was supposed to look like an un-sharpened toy wooden sword, but I couldn't portray this in 16x. In the future, I may try to make the gold sword look like a curvy ceremonial sword.

Anything I could do to make you like it more?
They look great now! I think the reason why I said that was the color of the wood, but that's because planks are that color too. I wouldn't have you change all that, it's fine
Aww how is this pack not that well known? I think it looks nice! I's added to the list of packs I'll be featuring when I start my lets play. (if a few planed mods ever get updated @.x)
Fantastic Pack! The textures themselves aren't necessarily similar, but I feel like your over-all approach is very similar to mine. It inspires me to finish! I love the originality, thinking about textures that are engrained in us because of default, and looking at them from a new angle. Cheers

I think that the sapling leaves should have higher contrast, and maybe hue shifting.
Pack is updated with quite a few changes (especially since I last posted)!
CTM support added, now Optifine and MCpatcher are equally supported. (MCpatcher doesn't have natural textures, Optifine doesn't support betterglass)

Thanks, I'm always trying to add in more designs that explain the ideas in the game (like crafting recipes)! Like how I just changed redstone lamps to show that redstone actually becomes the core of the glowstone, and thus lights up with a reddish hue!

The saplings in that shot are an old texture. Just need something in the flower pots. I will redo them in the future, but probably won't use hue shifting. I say hue shifting is all-or-none in most cases. The exception being reflective materials, like gold.

If the cake is a lie........ does that mean if i build a house out of cake my house isn't real?
Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.

Yep, I just added CTM support! Universal ones are bookshelves, netherbrick, netherbrick stairs, jukeboxes, and redstone ore!
If you have any more similar CTM fixes you think I should add, tell me!
