You sir just made my favorite texture pack of all time! I see myself using this more than the default one. However have you thought of adding the original, darker, surival test creeper texture for the classic version? It would also be cool to have an invisible tallgrass classic and late 2010 version.

I updated the pack, added the invisible tallgrass packs and cleaned up the post a bit.
now everything looks old. Now the pack is fully nostalgia. (hopefully)
I remember 7 months ago, when this pack wasn't released yet:
In the video, you can see what happens if birch has the oak texture: It won't stack with oak, and you can easily be confused and build your house of both birch and oak. (would look odd to others in multiplayer)
The video also shows how nice beaches we had before 1.8 :sad.gif:

Hey man. My signature's mod request is being developed right now, and in advance I'd like to ask you that once it is done, may I link those over to your texture pack to complete the nostalgia factor?
Oh, and I miss the beaches too, bud. Good news is that Jeb is working on the biome code a bit right now, so we might find more varied terrain.

Sure!

Good to hear, it'd be great if we got something similar to the older generators that were truly random.
I was playing this texturepack before 1.8.1.And now i made account on MinecraftForum, and i have to thank you!, this texture pack is brilliant, the best TexturePack i ever seen, good job man!
In the combination With Nostalgia factor mod, i feel like i'm playing alpha, not a 1.0.0 release !
Keep It Up! This is the best texture pack ever made for Minecraft IMO ^^
I've been using this pack, absolutely love it. It says the Survival test Pack (The one I use) is still WIP. What other things are you planning to add? The only thing I can think of would be the Skeleton's purple arrows, which are still in the .jar IIRC.

There are still a few things that can be added, such as old bows with no animation.
If i make the skeleton's arrows purple, then your arrows will also be purple.
I think maybe for people with really bad alpha nostalgia you could have another version with invisible tall grass? anyway i love the idea, downloading right now.
If I understand what you want correctly, you want the textures that are dark on the bottom and lighter on top (as seen here, here, and here). It is impossible to make these textures in a pack because the game applies one texture to all sides of the block instead of the three textures formerly used.
The glass used in the pack is actually the original glass texture; the free version was updated to use the new one.

(the grass was greener in Alpha)
It would make no sense if grey pillars walked around.

Click this.
Try making the grass a bit greener cause the grass with the new lighting looks horrible.

That's exactly how it looked in Classic, Indev, Infdev and Alpha.
It's kind of why i made this pack in the first place.
