This is probably one of the best LoZ texture packs out there. I regretfully had not bookmarked this particular thread, so after 1.7 updated was unable to update the old pack I was using. Still I switched back to it even without pistons. The colors are great. Thanks for up-keeping this. :smile.gif:
I'm glad you found it again then! and thanks for the praises man. As long as notch keeps adding stuff and I'm around I'll keep updated to keep pace :smile.gif:
Sweet, btw, you should make a 256x texture pack, I would have a friggin orgasm =D lol O_o
Haha I'd love to! its hard to keep a lot going at once though, found that out the hard way when I stretched myself too thin with other ideas in skyward sword. Maybe some day though. I was toying with making the armor skins 256 but didn't in case of people lagging and to stay consistent with the other skins.
It's definitely possible, the ideas are churnIng about in my head now. Those old skyward sword textures are perfect for a lot Of the areas. The items and stuff is a massive undertakig though.
Yea, I would love for Aether textures =D And like you said, a perfect use for alot of those Skyward Sword textures, the 2 go together so well.
Yea..
I just got it working on my minecraft but the thing just lagged my computer non stop choppy. Im wondering if its the glsl shaders or something else i had or installed improperly.
*Also thought I'd add it doesn't make sense that it would lag. I have a beast of a computer so I'm wondering about mod conflicts or something.. hmm
I think it may be as mine frame rate is super low since i added the gls shader but runs fine in window mode i don't know yet weather or not i want to delete it.
Delete the shader? it doesnt make sense though since with just the shader and hd patcher my framerate is fine. After installing the aether though it stutters every second consistently. Doesnt make sense to me, I ran a 256 pack with bumpmapping shaders with only slight lag. This should be a breeze.
I don't know i can run the x128 in full window without the shader but not even default texture will work in full window with the shader.
Oh wow your right. I put it in windowed mode and its perfectly fine. It must be something to do with the unofficial shaders since the old 1.5 official one never did this (guessing).
Also does anyone have a good server to play on? pm me
Actually I think it could be brighter or have a cyan hue to make it more other worldly.
The reason I changed it from the first screenshot is that I noticed in the default textures that the trees have a distinct bright green hue to the leaves. I also wanted the landscape to vary slightly in the trees and grass, the first shot the trees and grass were too similar in colour imo. The rock I think I might even lighten though. It still looks very otherworldly when compared to the base textures, and I'm trying to stay in the "pastel" colour zone.
Hey guys I'd like to take a moment and direct you to an awesome Zelda themed Adventure map
The creators have recently decided to incorporate textures from my pack into their map and it looks really great!
Awwwww I wish I could use GLSL shaders in Adventurecraft for maximum effect, but I can't =/
In any case, these texture packs are gorgeous! I'm still working on editing the textures for the map and they probably won't be in the next release until I can get them up and running.
Ironsentron, I know you have other stuff to be doing but we're making custom mobs for the map as well. How confident are you in your skinning abilities? I saw your work but did you finish those mobs and say "NEVER AGAIN WILL I MAKE MOBS" or was it easy for you?

Some of the skins I was like NEVER AGAIN, but that's because they were boring npcs like the squid. I had a lot of fun doing the moblins, creepers, zombies, etc. since I was inspired and you see them often.
We could talk about me contributing new skins for custom mobs you want to make. I think it would be pretty interesting and fun and could potentially add value to this texture pack (your permission permitting) as alternative skins.

Glad to hear it. I would love to have your help with the Wind Waker themed skins! I would never even think of telling you not to use the mobs in your pack (they might not fit completely because we can make our own boxes like you can with techne but if the majority of the skin is there the conversion to a minecraft alternate skin mob should be easy enough).
If you really wanted to do this, you ought to join us on our IRC channel. I'll send a pm with the channel name.
Hey I need peoples opinions on this please, for the Carved stone and Light Carved stone I wanted to use these textures. Its not final yet but I know they are already in The Dungeons of Hyrule in a different colour. What do you think? I think it looks pretty eerie and cool but.. I have to see the rest of the mod and the other dungeons first i think too.
*Edit 1
Also here is another shot, showing off the recoloured plank. It also has a slight undertone of the wood. I put a comparison shot of the regular plank beside it.
I may change the color later though if I find the Aether is getting too "orange"
*Edit 2
Here is another comparison shot, wood tops of the logs. Looks so much better.
Carved stone is perfect IMO, planks I think are too red.
Would it be crazy if aether wood was blue?
Thanks :smile.gif:
Yeah I'm still wary about the plank color. I don't know about blue.. maybe.. I can at least try and see. I was trying to make it somewhat match up with the color of the tree trunk.
I'm actually pretty far along I might release an early version soon. (more posts from people will encourage me :wink.gif: )

Thanks! more skins as soon as I get free time again!

I agree with you, working with the colors i found a nice contrast. I need to fix the stretch marks on the side of the grass blocks though
Here is the tree trunk and holystone so far
