Just saying as someone who Loves this resource pack, you technically could make a seperate resource pack and release it to the public that Overlays the stuff not done in this resource pack. Just an idea
Somehow i have a version with better stuff as the noise works and the textures look a lot better. Maybe because i'm downloading pre 1.7? is there another version because i can't find it. i love this pack by the way and i'm trying to build a fallout map. not for download or anything i'm just trying to make it through the hype for fallout 4. And the one i'm using is called Mineout Resource pack 1.6 Anyway keep up the good work. ( also wondering why did you have to take out the music) copyrights or?)
First I'd like to say that I am working on updating Mineout. So thanks for keeping interest in it.
Secondly there were a few reasons for my hiatus. College, lack of interest in Minecraft, bearing a majority of the workload by myself and the pages' code screw up.
Before I release an update for the pack I'm going to fix the page first. I'm back into Minecraft and I have the time to update it. The page being a cluttered mess has just been a real de-motivator.
So, I'll be back with more to come in the following weeks.
No, we have not considered cats as giant rats. Even for a giant rat that would seam a bit large. I currently have them textured as night stalkers from Fallout: New Vegas. Also be sure to tell your server players about this pack! I might pop by for a look.
Actually I'm going to be taking commissions soon! So I'd be more than happy to do some textures in bulk for you! Special price for fallout based textures if not I'm sure we could work something else out but I would appreciate the doing some commissioned spiriting for all your needs! So please contact me whenever you have the time.
Hiya! I'm sure you've heard about this a lot, but I simply don't have the time to read through 22 pages of posts to find out if/when you did.
You have a spelling error on the "Mobs and Alternatives" picture gallery. Giant Spider is spelled "Gaint Spider"
Now that I've got that out, I'd like to tell you about my opinions about this mod. First off, I think its great for fans of Fallout, or anyone attempting to make Fallout esque buildings it's perfect. Infact, the best Fallout texture pack I've found. It's also good to just play with, wielding a generally appealing aesthetic which is very well done. The mobs are simply amazing. I want to high-five the person/people who made the mob textures, because they're creative and generally well blended into the Fallout universe.
Secondly, the person/people who made this obviously knew what they were doing, and have probably played a pretty hefty amount of Fallout 3/New Vegas. I'd also like to mention (which I failed to in the previous paragraph) that the entire texture pack is well blended into the Fallout universe not just the mobs :).
Thirdly, I'd just like to thank the people who made this.
Now, these are the (few) complaints/strikes.
(This space was taken by frame issues, but they resolved)
~ This goes back to my first paragraph (I know, I'm writing a paper right? :P) Where I mentioned, "generally appealing aesthetic", as some of the textures look a bit off, and hard to identify.
-Examples-
A lot of the "Block of" textures. Such as Iron (appears to be some sort of bad 80's wallpaper) Gold (which vaguely resembles a furnace) Block of emerald (which looks like a permanently locked safe, which I can vaguely understand) Now, I know that you've got to blend each and every block some how into the Fallout universe, and I might be missing the point, but this is my opinion.
Stone brick and mossy stone brick don't resemble cracked or chiseled stone, and take the form of rocks, meanwhile the cracked and chiseled stone bricks are really nice looking vault-esque building material.
Fineto! Those are my opinions about the texture pack! I give it a 10/10 overall. It was actually really difficult to find fault with this texture pack, I found myself actively searching for something wrong. I felt the few things I found wrong, where actually very overlookable and explainable, and didn't deserve to take away from the score of this texture pack.
Thanks for letting us know what you think of the pack! We really appreciate feedback from the community. I'd like to clear up though that this is not considered a mod. It isn't even just a texture pack because we edit more than just the textures. So the proper term for our work is a resource pack. Also yes, there are two people on the Mineout team. That being me (The_Gotham) and Neptune4a which has taken a hiatus from the pack. So the past few updates it has just been me working on the pack. I did most of the mobs myself but we both do a lot of brainstorming before we decide what a texture should represent from Fallout. We both have plaid a tremendous amount of the Fallout series. Not just 3 and New Vegas but also 1, 2 and Tactics. I personally have logged way over 600 hours of time playing the Fallout series. Also I would like to point out that the iron block resembles sheet metal which can be seen in Megaton, which the houses are made of. Gold block is a shipping crate which you find in old warehouses and the like. Emerald block is indeed a safe, which we decided would be an esthetic choice. As in it was prettier and more useful to have it like the bottle caps are in a safe.
Be sure to check out the new 3D models I just uploaded! Be sure to tell your pals about Mineout too! The more exposure we can get the better. Thank you and enjoy your stay!
Thanks, I appreciate you clearing those things up (and responding in a greased lightning time) I will definitely tell my friends about this pack, and I don't know if the "exposure" thing was a pun or not but it made me chuckle.
Also, If you ever need suggestions for any new feature you add, you could message me about it. Although I don't expect you to. (I've put maybe 100 hours into NV and maybe 50 into Fallout 3, haven't played 1 or 2. Yea I know, I need to get my stuff together :D) BUT like I said, I don't expect it but I'd be more than glad to help!
I'm always open to ideas! So if you have any be sure to let me know. I still have no idea what to do with the new bunnies or guardians and water temples. So feel free to drop me a line!
Also The classic Fallouts are great but they do have a learning curve and are a different gameplay experience but they still feel very much like the Fallout you know and love. The best place I can recommend you get them is on Good Old Games but they recently took them off of the market because the license rights reverted to Bethesda. So hopefully they will be added again. Otherwise you could get them from Steam but they only have it for PC.
I'm not sure about the bunnies, but how about this? The underwater temple could be a crashed alien ship, modeled after Zeta, and the guardians could be the drones from the same dlc. I'm not so sure about the guardians being drones, due to the models being completely different, but it's the best i could come up with.
Edit: Perhaps if you remove the ears, the bunnies could be giant rats. The rarer rabbit of caerbannog could become the pig rat from one of the first games or something.
Hay, I've been a fan of this RP for like nearly 2 years? And I have just recently acquired a gramophone and some old music records. I thought that they fit the fallout theme quite well. I could record some of them for the RP if you are having trouble with the copyrights on the music side of things.
Oh the issue isn't finding the music. I have all of the music files from Fallout and even the background music too! I added them to Mineout in 1.7 but removed them from the public versions because of copyright issues. I would gladly distribute it separately from the base Mineout pack so I'm not collecting revenue from Adfly for it. However the issue was finding a place to host it, as Media Fire automatically blocks copyrighted music. Thank you for the offer though.
I'm doing pretty good with making the models myself but help is always welcomed. I especially need someone who can model things that are slanted. For example the slanted railing. I have a model for it by someone on Reddit who modded my normal rail for me. However it is kinda larger than the normal rail and it also doesn't show the special rail's textures. That's my biggest issues right now. Otherwise right now I'm working on fences and tripwires. Also what ever that is you posted isn't playing. Is it a video?
Oh wow! That's some nice modeling. What blocks did you replace for each of them? Also if you could send them too me to test out that'd be great. Also as I said before, my main issue right now is with the slanted railing. With the normal rail I had a flat surface in between the railing and the planks. The surface had the standard rail uv mapped to it. So when in game, it automatically applies the rail variant textures to it. So it would show the details of the booster rail, activator rail, and such. Otherwise any item or block I haven't modeled yet that you feel would be better in 3D is open for being worked on. I would be sure to give you proper credit for the models of course
Can I help with the models? I made some Fallout themed models aswell.
Someone is gonna have to clean the brain matter off the walls because my mind is blown. certainly this is my favorite texture pack because of its ability to throw away the normal hum drum of "realistic" and "default" texture packs that do little to throw the sense of adventure into play away from the normality of default minecraft. the fact that these models are being made with such creativity is extraordinary. Few have the ability to rise from the grave in the sense of updating, this looks promising.
EDIT:
Kind of unfortunate that this texture pack is only a 16x, takes some keen eyes to identify some aesthetic works of the pack like the nuka-cola machine or some of the artwork. i can live with it though, i don't want to force you to boost the resolution because this pack is pretty awesome anyway.
Ugggh Im sorry to be a bother again but adfly isn't working for me, it says the webpage is not available :\ do you think there can be an alternate link I can click?

Mineout is not dead.
Thank you ~ The_Gotham
