So, I'm by no means the first to create an Ultima based texture pack for Minecraft, but I wasn't happy with the attempts that I've seen so far. So I took my own shot at it. I imported what I could directly from the U6 texture files, other things needed heavy editing, and a lot needed to be created from scratch.
I think I nailed the Ultima feel. Hopefully those who remember Ultima 6 will recognize many of the textures and and items, and those who don't will enjoy the old school RPG feel.
I want to send out a HUGE thankyou to Withstand the Fury Dragon and his site http://www.ultimaaiera.com/http://ultimacodex.com/ I've been following his posts for years now, and was struck speechless to find my little creation on his site. It was a huge honor! Keep up the great work WtFD! Kids today don't know what great gaming is, and it's up to sites like yours to keep the golden age alive.
EDIT: Updated 3/11/13 - Not sure how many of these I have left in me. Minecraft has moved from my primary entertainment, to the backseat, and now into the trunk. And with the new setup for texture packs as or 1.5, maintenance is less necessary, That said, this is the biggest update yet! What started as a sprucing up of the UI became a complete overhaul, and we're now able to change the fonts, so that's changed as well (Ultima 6's font was a little too fat, so I had to creat a new skinnier version). I also redid all the ores with animated textures, and animated the torches, lights, furnaces and several other things as well. For anyone still following, hope you enjoy! This was a big one.
Wow. I could have sworn I looked for this exact texture pack (Ultima VI in Minecraft) and couldn't find it. I was literally just about to delve into making one, and decided just to double-check and sure enough you've gone and made one. This makes me very happy. Downloading now! :biggrin.gif:
I saw that actually. I was SUPER jazzed to be featured on that site, which I go to pretty often. :happy.gif: It seriously made my day.
I'm planning on throwing up a link to the site and showing some love back when I update this thread with the next version of the pack, which should be soon. I've been working on sand, sandstone, and TNT, and it's only the TNT that's holding me up. Hopefully I can get to something I'm happy with this week though.
It was a serious honor to be recognized on Aiera. And on a related note, WTF EA!? Just let us have Ultima4! You're not using it!
The 1.4 version is up there. I changed the button graphics. If anyone preferred the scrolls, let me know. I just looked back at a shot of the U6 opening screen, and really liked the look. I can always go back though.
Added stuff for 1.6.* as well as adding in new sprites for all three saplings and growing wheat. I also posted some new screenshots. Thankyou to everyone who's still paying attention!
Yet another small update for 1.6.6. Mostly cleaning stuff up. Hopefully I'll be trying to figure out what textures to give pistons soon. It'll be a good problem to have!

Everyone I've showed it to comments on the door so far. Not sure why. XD
Guess it's just very striking.
1) You have the same name as this kid in my geometry class who also plays minecraft... And it's a rather uncommon name. Whatever.
2) I really love this pack, is it 1.3 compatible? Like, with beds and stuff?

Not my real name, but still odd. XD
Yep, just updated it. I drew a new texture for the beds too. Still deciding how I feel about it. May go back and tweak it.

Yeah. Your pack fits his map perfect. It's got the dungeons and everything, too.
Dunno why your pack isn't getting more love, it's great.

Not that it's a deal-breaker. It's still a good pack.
If you'd have just scrolled up the page you'd have seen where i posted this , please read the threads prior to posting
Also This pack appears in a video in which someone got the song Stones from the Ultima series to play in Minecraft. See it here!
