I am really getting tired of seeing invisible fireworks It's perfeclty fine if you're busy, I am not rushing it, the only thing I am asking is some news about it, just get us updated if you're working on it or having a brake, ETC.
Better get working on 1.5 textures, andre. The longer you wait, the more work it'll be in the end. (alsoireallydontwanttoupdateto1.5ifjolicraftisn'tupdtaedtoyeah.)
They haven't really screwed anyone, in fact this change is really nice (although probably harder to keep track of all the textures when editing them). When minecraft updates with new items or blocks we wont have to wait for a texture pack to update before we can use it again, because now the new blocks will revert to the default texture if it's missing in the pack. Also we finally have vanilla support for HD textures, animated textures, and water/lava/fire/etc (though there's still some missing things like sky colors and whatnot).
It's a little early to truly tell what will happen when everything is final.
It's best to just wait it out and see what happens.
There could be all kinds of changes going on during this time.
I think it's a good choice in the long run. Mainly for the reason that when they add new blocks it won't make the texture pack instantly incompatible. It'll be a lot of work but worth it when it's done. I'm holding off doing it for now because I hear tell of a tool or script being developed that'll do the work for me

Dinnerbone posted a texture-pack unsticher, I haven't tried it myself, but it should convert the items and terrain into their new format. https://twitter.com/...796115647561728
Glad to hear you know about the unstitcher-tool-thingy. Also, do you have any plans for the quartz and quartz block textures?
Btw, do you plan on making the alt stone and ores the default? I think everyone would agree they should be.

Yeah maybe. The good news about this texture format change is that it'll make customizing your pack way easier, so I can start including alts as easily-swappable options.

This is the version I'll keep updated for the snapshots. This update just has the unstitched textures separated, I'll update anything that's missing soon.

I for one do not like the alt cobblestone. As for the smooth stone, can't really tell the diff just by looking at the customizer =P. The grass alt, are you talking about the ones with flowers on it?
Edit: Nevermind, saw the other grass, it's subtle, but it's there. I think I like default better.
I alway loved this texture pack the most. I hope to see an update soon.

Also, I heard that they've moved each texture to it's own .png. (items, blocks, etc.)
If so, they've majorly screwed every texture pack over.
Agreed

There's also more information on the wiki http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Texture_Packs#Textures_for_Blocks_and_Items_in_Minecraft_1.5

Ah, there it is

Looking at them they definitely DO look better.
