thank u so much for adding 16x and 32x because i rrun quite a few mods and dont hav the time to deal with the HD patcher, and for some reason my pc can run a 32x pack without the patcher needed.
Nice work as usual Scuttles, I really like the Glowstone, it really fits in with the rest of the pack more than it used to.
But... alas! here comes the latest spot... terrain.png, sticky piston texture is one, yes ONE pixel out, haha, sry man I don't look for these things... honest! :tongue.gif:
Thanks, I'm quite a fan of it as well. :wink.gif:
Bah... I'll fix that nuisance, lol
Good find, though. One step closer to perfection.

Quite welcome. I kept getting messages requesting them regardless of how terrible it might look. They actually turned out quite well. I just have to go over them by hand and redraw some stuff to look better.
x32 should work without a patcher. You'll run into a few issues which aren't major, though. If I recall, the gold blocks will have lava/water textures in the corner and you won't have animated HD water which isn't a big deal either.
I have tried re-patching. That didn't work. Also, this is a problem before I installed and ran mods. (I use only Too Many Items, and Zombe's Fly & Info Mods) But I think I should tell you the whole deal in case it's important.
Back during 1.6 I was trying to install Zombes pak for the first time. I screwed it up though and as I tried to fix it I accidentally deleted my minecraft.jar file. Unable to retrieve it, I figured that launching Minecraft again would give me a fresh downloaded .jar. This didn't work. The game wouldn't download a .jar. So I started fishing around in the bin folder and discovered all the older version .jar files that are stored there and I found the closest version to the one I lost and re-named it 'minecraft.jar'. The game worked fine again, albeit an older version. I reloaded your texture pak and figured out the correct way to run the mods and the game launched fine. This is when I first noticed the defaulted water and lava.
My thinking was, that I was playing an older version .jar and the text/mods were updated past my game. I assumed that when 1.7 was released, my game would update - which it did - and the text/mods would update their stuff - which they did - and I would be back to normal. Well it wasn't. The water and lava remain defaulted but everything else is x256 and lovely.
cool story, huh? =)
Any help is appreciated. It isn't a HUGE pain, but my world would obviously be enhanced with proper water/lava.
thanks.
d
Wow, that really is an interesting story, lol
I'm running out of ideas, though. I have no clue why it refused to render the HD animated water/lava. My only guess is that it's something to do with updated that random .jar you switched names. Have you tried "force update" and repatching it yet?
For the impatient people out there, the terrain_nh and terrain_s are available for direct download.
Note that those are just the 2 files, so you will need to have a bit of a understanding on how to install GLSL and add shaders that allow parallax occlusion to work.
If you don't, wait untill they will appear as download in this thread, possibly with a vid/text tutorial. Since setting GLSL up is more difficult then just setting up a texturepack, be warned =P.
Thank you so much EngeHenk. =)
I shalltry to update the video on the main post and try to get a download link going sometime today without highly confusing people thinking that simply placing those files into the pack will make it work.

Blargh...
I had MCPatcher working fine with GLSL yesterday, but now that you release the awesome bumpmapping it refuses to launch.
Black Screens ftl...
Must.... fix....
EDIT:
OK, so maybe I'm just making a really stupid mistake.
Recapping what I did.
First, I open MCPatcher, everythings checked (HD Textures, HD Font, Better Grass).
I then add the GLSL folder, put the two bumpmapping PNGs into a zip and add that, add the shaders folder to a zip and add that, put them all at the bottom, and click PATCH.
Then I go in-game, it launches fine and goes to the main menu.
Then when I go to texture packs and choose an HD pack the menu disappears, I only see the background, and eventually it goes black.
I get this error

I suspect this is all related to my Windows installation being corrupted.
I did get my hands on that USB drive, but I plan on getting two new hard drives, and would wind up reinstalling windows on those anyway.
So rather than doing it twice, I'm just going to wait the 15 days to get them, and then install it then.
So here goes 15 days without Windows functionality.

It's working great for me except for the annoying lag spikes I get every 15 seconds. You don't add a shaders folder since it's already there. Just replace the files inside the folder. I put the bumpmapping pngs at GLSL zip and texture pack zip just in case. I didn't check the better grass.

I added the shaders folder w/ the bumpmapping shaders because the default shaders don't have bumpmapping enabled.
I don't think it's my installation that's wrong though :/

Here is a quick video of LB Photo Realism x256 6.0.5 using custom GLSL shaders with terrain_s and terrain_nh from EngeHenk. He is doing a great job at converting and I can't wait to see a final version. However, I am curious about the technical reasons behind what happens in the video. If anyone can explain it in laymen terms, I would be much appreciative.
Thanks, I'm quite a fan of it as well. :wink.gif:

Should be on the first page. It should have a "downloads" section with multiple resolution options.

There's an alternate terrain.png ready for download at the OP.
Just wow man THIS IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!! best pack ive ever seen
i guess my computer wont handle the x256.
but ill try! *-*
Did you put the texture pack zip in the texture pack folder?
Go make a better pack. Or learn how to install things correctly when provided with instructions.

No dynamic lighting mods were used in the video.
It works fine (or so it seems) when I install GLSL before patching with MCPatcher.

That's odd. I used MCPatcher to patch my jar along with GLSL. I used fresh jar before patching it if this matters.
